SFSG

Is this made up predominantly of paras? In the news it said it was a mix of paras, marines and RAF Regmt. but people just seem to refer to it as 1 para! How do marines get in?do they have to pass a selection course?
cheers tom

there is no selection course as such. Its basically 1 PARA plus a company of marines and a gaggle of RAF Regt paras. Plus all the usual support staff like Int Corps and AGC etc etc.

As a result, I believe that no one is posted in to 1 PARA anymore from the depot (maybe the PARAs will know this?)

All the RAF and Marines, have been identified and used for their particular skills

All bolkes passing out of Para Reg depot now are only posted to either 2 or 3 para. The word is you have to have done 2 years in battalion before you can transfer to SFSG.
