I like him, I really do.

We're breaking down some barriers here, people. I mean, when you're talking rare vocal talent, and some of the most mind-blowing compositional skills you've ever seen - this guy is just top notch, I can't sing his praises enough.

One example: his lyrics. Take You're Beautiful one of the gems of modern popular music. Anyone who wanted to really sell out would have written some ironic, possibly multi-layered lyrics to go with this deliberately ultra-simplistic tune (cleverly lifted from past masters Dido, and of course let's not forget Natalie Imbruglia), but no. Blunt Says "You're beautiful". Not to be outdone, again he says "You're beautiful", and you think, could he do it a third time? No, he wouldn't dare. But he does! Blunt is a man who dares. "You're beautiful," he repeats, and then adds "It's true", just to hammer the point solidly home.

I mean, you can't argue with that kind of depth, that sheer brilliance, that sharpness. What a talent.

Pfffttt, I've heard cats walking across keyboards who write better music than the man and I mumble better lyrics in my sleep.

Actually been at muso parties where people speed write better-than-Blunt verses as a drinking game, and they always suceed. Even once they're comatose.
