HELP! Is this MK10 suit poisoned? ("CONTAMINATED")

Post by AerialTheShamen »

I bought on eBay some used military pilot immersion suits, but one of them (a NATO model "MK10") lacks one wrist seal and came with papers those indicate "Fault: contaminated" and "Safety and Hazard Information: RTS v/s".

This is some text from the sheet that came with it:
Form 731 Equipment Condition Label UNSERVICEABLE

NATO Stock No/Sect & Ref No: 22C/1300 228
Serial No.: 50481
Decription: MK10 IMM SUIT
Qty: ONE
Deficiencies: NIL

Safety and Hazard Information: RTS v/s

ERC attached: no
Authorised Life: LOC
ERC Form Number AP108F 0604 Anuf[?]13
Fault: CONTAMINATED
Reason for Removal: CONTAMINATED

Other fields are crossed out and marked with "N/A" (=not applicable?).

ST Item: N
ESR Checked for Currency/Updated: N

Rank & Name
Test/Repair* 3rd/4th Line*/Suffix*/Scrap*: PO(SE)BECKETT
Date: 16/05/05

Signature/Stamp: a stamp "AUTHORIZED CONDITIONER VL85"
What does the entry "RTS v/s" mean? Is this suit poisoned, or is "contaminated" just military jargon for something harmless like unremovable dirt or an oil stain that had dissolved the missing latex wrist seal? I already tested the suit with my pocket Geiger counter, but it doesn't seem to be radioactive, and I also see no extreme dirt stains.

If poisonous, would it be still safe to gut out the airtight dryzip to upgrade a surf suit with it?

Obvious question, did you ask the buyer of which you bought the item?

What the F**k is your web site?!?:silly:

The eBay guy replys no emails, and I got informed by another buyer that he got a totally ruined suit with 10 cuts in it. It seems to be a total game of chance to buy from that vendor. His eBay name is "millitary-textiles".

I am consciousness researcher. Ther photo shows a form of biofeeback which applies a latex resonator to send bodily vibrations back to other parts of the body (similar like yoga postures) to synchronize different brain areas with eachother, which improves the brain's internal communication.

By the way, resonator meditation can be also well applied for war victims as a treatment for post traumatic stress disorder.

I guess thats just the risk you take with eBay, iv been caught out a few times. Did he have his feedback as private too?

No offence intended about the web site, anything to help those with PTSD.

Have you tried PM' the mods in the know on this site? Also on the sister site www.mfat.co.uk? They maybe able to help you with the specifics.

The vendor has only positive ratings - possibly they are counterfeit. This is his profile:

I also don't make silly jokes about what a crucifix looks like (although I am strictly convinced that hell-threatening violates the human dignity). Meditation or prayers of other cultures always look strange to foreigners.

Again, does anybody here understand the meaning of the "Form 731 Equipment Condition Label UNSERVICEABLE" sheet?

Especially what does the "Safety and Hazard Information" entry "RTS v/s" mean. Is this something dangerous or normal?

Who knows more about this form?

Here are some photos of the documentation sheet that came with the suit:

The inner 2 pages of the form are unused:

The word "CONTAMINATED" is handwritten and the last letters look a little smeared - may it be that they mean something different?

Bloody Germans...
By the way, Germans normally CAN read English (except some senior people) and learn it regularly at school. Only Frenchmen hate English so much that even their online shops often don't understand English language orders. I am pacifist and don't care about all this nationalist brainwash. I use English because it is internetional, not because I love it.

Aerial,
Tried to have a look at your pics, unfortunately I need to provide a Username and Password to access them.
Perhaps you could open up a "photobucket" account and host them there instead so that we can see them.

Its called banter! Does being a pacifist mean you lose your sense of humour?

You have GOT to be shittin me!!!!

While initially entertaining in a side-show freak kind of way, the effect quickly turned to one of simply being disturbed.

THIS ...

IS NOT NORMAL!

NOR IS THIS...

OR THIS...

OR THIS...

"I want to show the world that latex is something wonderful and that psychedelic experiences with it don't deserve it to be treated as "pervert". "

OR THIS...

"Orgasms (with ejaculation) should be better avoided, because they maladjust the nervous system and prevent success in meditation.)"

YOU, SQUIRE, ARE A BLEEDIN LOONEY.

Reminds me of a weirdo we had in my unit in the UK for a (very brief) while. He would put on an NBC glove, sit on his hand until it was numb, lube up, and then away he went. Right there on his pit, without a by your leave. Always proffin the KY out of the Resusci-Anne. He went off to the FFL, but they wouldn't have him. Ended up in the RAF Reg where he no doubt fitted in nicely!

Aerial: Give my regards to Clarice.

(Now where DID I put thiose fava beans?)
