Another eight soldiers have been found with drugs in their system in the Green Howards, this brings the total up thirty so far this year.

This really needs to be sorted. Drug abuse in our armed forces cannot be tolerated.

One of jeds lads got caught out over a month ago, he finds out this week whether he is allowed to stay in the army or not. He claims his drink had been spiked!!!

I have heard said that because you can't buy your self out of the Army, this is a cheap and easy way of getting out.

They are now reviewing the cases of those caught out with drugs in the Forces !!! some will be able to stay on if they Rehabilitate ? would not fancy being shoulder to shoulder with a Druggie ? how could you ever put your trust in them !!! live rounds spring to mind ?

Just replying to harry's msg regarding the ADF drug policy. They hold a 100% no drugs policy and that rule is taken very seriously. The way the rule works is that they conduct random drug tests on certain units regularly throughout the year, especially after leave periods such as christmas. However if you know someone is taking drugs and you let your boss know he will keep it confidential and that member will be drug tested that day and if found to be under the influence, appropriate action will be taken. I have seen people discharged for steroids so its not just marijuana etc that they are looking for. The "my drink was spiked" excuse is frowned upon as everyone knows when a soldier drinks he doesnt have a pint in his hand long enough for someone to spike it.
