entry eligible ??

Post by sm »

Hi guys, first off hello...

Now for the questions i have relating to entry and then genral duties / specialisation.

I currently work as a motor vehicle tech' and I'm looking at changing my carreer to RM. now the first question is my bollox, more accurately my right one as its smaller and higher than left, now its never bothered me but will this be a medical rejection as i have heard "wifes tales" about dropped balls???!!! :-? now if this isn't a problem, good.. which brings me to my second question, if i was accepted and passed all the tests then went on to complete 32 weeks would I be forced into vehicle mechanic? As I really don't want to do this anymore, I want to do GD and then specialise in EW as i like electronics and self teaching Visual Basic

All replies are greatly recieved.

If its dropped you'll be ok (just because it hasnt dropped as far as the other doesnt mean it hasnt dropped), if it hasnt then you could be in a spot of bother, see your GP and ask him.

Oh and welcome aboard

Back in the early 60s I had ambitions to join the Fleet Air Arm and fly Buccaneers. Yeah right, scouser from working class family joining a RN officers' mess! :-? Ah, well, we can all dream.

Anyway, the bumf I received informed me that the loss of one testicle was not a bar to joining. I'm still not sure why you couldn't join if you'd lost both. But, hey, that was a long time ago. I can't believe you'll have any problem now. After all women join these days and having neither balls nor todgers clearly doesn't affect their ability to do whatever FAA officers do.

And, no, I can't see that RN is any different than RM in this case. But this is all conjecture. Get your ass down to the recruiting office and they'll tell you the score. Your 'condition' is not a medical rarity; 'assymetry' in all sort of organs is fairly common.

[And all the 3 badgers can bog off! You'll obviously be wondering how I can remember this after 40+ years, but I've got both and they're still functional! - It's obviously a deep-seated fear I carry in my 'id' 8) ]

dont worry about the bollox as to being forced to be a VM the answer is no, currently that branch has no shortage of volunteers CTC currently tries to employ most Marines in a GD billet for at least 12 months, my advice would be not to volunteer for any SQ until you have been out of training a few months and have learned wots hot and wots not, at CTC you will have a completely different view of life wich will change once you get to a unit.
