Way to go London!!!

I admit I had mixed feelings about this but when I received the news that we had won the bid I was bloody over the moon....

Lets for a moment be overwhelmed and excited at the fact that for 2 weeks the world will be focused on the UK and London in particular? Yes I'm a tad worried about the taxes but I think it will make a minimal impact. This will be the most amazing event ever staged in the UK, one that I and my family can't wait for...!!

PS.The committee clearly thought that our cuisine was tastier than that offered by the French!

Surely it can't have been just me that was fairly disinterested until it became a head to head with the French. I was working from home and despite telling everyone I thought it was a complete waste of money and yet again Londoncentric blah blah blah.... I found myself being drawn in more and more when it got down to us, Spain and the frogs.

When they finally got round to announcing the decision I was screaming at the TV "Show me the French, go to the reporter in Paris" NOW!!!

Nice for London, not so nice for the rest of us who will pay for it all, and get sod all benefit, as usual. Treasury input will be minimal, but watch the Lottery funds be raided, again. The backing for Manchester and Birminghams past efforts was virtually zero, but pull out all the stops for London, stinks.
