Pongo's Trying to Poach the Corps

Just to put a spanner into the ceaseless demolition of us Pongos, I seem to remember a few years back that the Royal Marines were making great efforts to poach Army guys to transfer. This was specifically REME vehicle trades. Advertisements were widely distributed among the REME,and featured in our Corps magazine.

This was not just a drive for more green lidded REME guys, but a full up transfer, with an agreed procedure.

The lengths people will go to, to get out of having to wear that God awful ginger suit!

Dont know if there were any that went or not.

well we marines dont like smelling like a pongo!!! Perhaps the govt has been reading to many books on ww2 marine units, and feels that there were army commandos back then so why not now....BUT they have no concept of amphibious Infantry and it would be like combining chalk and cheese, and another thing what would happen to all arms?? The standards would drop and wed become just like any other army unit...
