It's for Royal only Rats, for very valid reasons.

Last years event is covered in full on the front page of the site, well worth a read and your support

Could I bet on the ole warhorse (The Pegasus) known as Derek? :)

Please give my best regards to Rob. Hope he's back in his boots soon. :(

Chris
The ole war horse has a few scars, and is in trouble as well, as the new rules introduced for Yomp30 2004 include the necessity for any participant to have a Doctors Fitness Certificate. (Guaranteeing they are at least still alive I think! )

My 'Pegasus' wings (Don't tell the Paras) have therefore been clipped, as my Doctor thinks I spend my time in a wheelchair nursing my 1999 quadruple bypass. Moreover, unknowingly, my right leg was shortened following an assault course accident to my ankle in '71, which eventually screwed up my spine. Every-time I walk unaided into his surgery he writes an article for The British Medical Foundation claiming another medical miracle, so I don't think I could fool him into signing a 'Fit to Yomp' chit!

Yomp 30 last year was brilliant, and I enjoyed every painful yard, but I guess I will have to join Rob's support staff this year, and rest my wings.
Let's hope Rob is back to his old self, and makes it too.

Aye, Derek

YOMP 30 2004

Post by ratso »

Due to set backs with banks and many problems with changes at Okehampton and the Bird nesting season on Dartmoor, we have had to provisionally book a date in July for this year and not the previous date in June.

The Date we are trying to tie down is the weekend Friday the 16th of July through to Sunday the 18th of July. Though due to changes in the way accomodation is dealt with, civilian contractors, we can not tie down the dates yet. The price for accomodation is also, due to the civvies, under review.

The web site will have all the latest and will be sorted by the weekend, though I doubt an answer will be back for some time. We have the support of the Colonel at Okehampton so he will bat for our corner.

Will keep you updated as things progress.

The world is truly mad these days, thank god I'm mad with them.
