Lew, this is why I don't like this effort as much as the other SAS programs; this is very much entertainment orientated, the control team seemed to be trying to keep the groups close enough to keep things interesting for the viewer, while not allowing Ryan to be caught (at least not quickly). The Channel 4 job was decent journalism, and SAS: Are you tough enough genuinely tested people, whereas this was just trying to make good TV. Hence the hunter force were probably told how to dress, what to do etc.
The end part seemed to be pretty much the same as the last but with added snow, insofar as Ryan is hiding in vegetation (I wondered whether the SEAL bloke who mentioned he saw a head pop up had some director scream down the radio, "NO YOU BLODY DIDN'T!"). Suspect rescue vehicle comes along (follow it? What kind of silly idea is that?

), lands, Ryan dashes straight towards it, hunter force dashes straight towards Ryan, just misses, and group hugs all round.
All in all, not much better or worse than last weeks, though I have to admit being interested in mountain and arctic shenanigans, I was more drawn to this one

.
And I'm guessing the SEALs were likened to the SAS because the SAS is interesting and no-one's heard of the SBS
