However on this thread alone I have been:

Accused of being a liar.
Accused of name calling.
Accused of spreading alarm and despondency.
Accused of posting 'shite'
Invited to 'sling my hook'.

There's not much encouragement for open, honest or even 'caustic' comments there then.

I do believe the first name calling came from a Mod calling you 'Cheffy boy' no matter what part of the services you are being degraded for you're chosen profession is absolutely stupid

Point 1, you like you're job choice so you do it
Point 2, Just because it's not front-line doesn't make you any less of a soldier.

Take no offence to what you've been called my friend.. i respect any one and every one in the forces.

EDIT:

Thought i'd edit this to pre-empt being labelled an Ass kiss... I'm not, i don't know the guy and never spoke to him before.

Rogue - think you missed this bit when you read druadan's post...
Please also make this a case of 'from now on' - I don't want to be sifting through threads from last year.

Or you can have freedom.

Hyperlithe,
No I didn't. You do have a sharp sense of humour though. The only thing that you deemed worthy of comment was that you thought I had missed a bit when I read Druadan's post. Hysterical!

I think you missed the bit where I offered to send the PMs to Wally, but he doubted that they exist, so I offered to send them to Druadan instead. I have no intentions of sending links to threads from years ago. Most of the PMs are very recent. My inbox is getting fuller.

You also missed the bit where I was accused of being the 'mole' by a moderator who claimed that "a few of us think it's you" and was then told by another moderator that I had never been suspected "so I don't know where you got that from". I wonder if you investigative wizards could get your story straight.

Note for Mods - Must try harder.

Jstagg,
I don't mind the Chef jibes in the least.

I served 5 years as a Chef and still managed a fair bit of operational stuff as well.
I then served 17 years as General Duties (about half of that was operational), during which time I was very grateful for the support of the non GD types keeping us fed, watered, clothed, paid etc.

I do but even chaps in the army no matter what experience and rank will label some one w@#k of the week and mean it, I've got family in all sorts of REg's and even they think it's childish lol.

I remember in training that the Wally or donkey of the day had to wear he's old steel helmet. While the rest their berets. :)

How would you deal with that mate ?

Childish yep, how do you think I feel having to keep an eye on my coat for the whole shift.

Pretty fine I Imagen, it's more of a humour and at least the NCO or PTI or what not has the hang lows to say it to you're face & make a laugh of it instead of a forum, but no doubt in their time off they have a laugh about it just as the recruits will discuss how much they hate the certain NCO/PTI or what not. the only problem is that if we talked about how we didn't like them they would laugh beast us and be done with it unlike if we was to say about it here an admin(S) or mod(S) would probably ban us or as i received PM's saying 'I'm going to get you beasted' but that issue is resolved now.

Jstagg, I think you have pretty aptly described the situation on here at present. Everyone having discussions about who they don't like, throwing some banter (and more recently heartfelt insults) around, and those with authority have the option to come down on those without on a whim should they so feel. Welcome to training

RC, as I've said I'd like to start with a clean slate. I'm on ops at the moment and, although I'm sure you have a presentable case(s) on these recent matters you speak of, I do not have time to sift through that kind of thing (apologies). Nor have I read back into these mole discussions etc so couldn't comment. I trust everything further to this was covered by my PM, please feel free to respond.

I'll leave the thread open for now as there's still conversation in there somewhere (I think :o ).

Druadan,
Thanks again.

I know you have far better things to be concerned with. I don't expect you go through all those PMs. I was making the point that they are there if you want to see them.

Oh dear oh dear.

You never learn, do you mods.

You are SO predictable.

Never mind.

Job done, as you now know I'm around and I'm going nowhere.

Merry Christmas.

That is spooky!

Only a few weeks ago some of the mods were chasing their own tails trying to find 'The Mole', (I was accused at one point, but the mods have sorted that out by denying me access to The Retreat and Bunker. Sneaky, who said open debate, even caustic comments are welcome?). More recently I mentioned that one of the things that annoys me are moles. Then would you believe it? Someone rocks up and calls themself 'The Mole'. You couldn't make that up.

You and some others here try to bully members and try to prevent open robust discussion (one of the things that Sneaky trys to promote in this thread). I was recently accused of being the cause of decline in membership! The fact is that anyone who disagrees with one of 'the pack' is jumped on. Members (old and new) leave because of the nonsense and disparity that is laughingly referred to as moderation.

You are a disgrace.
This post about the mods on here is spot on, and I posted on this quote yesterday.

How strange my post yet again disappeared.

Every time the mods remove my polite non abusive posts, it proves to me more and more how they are too cowardly to read the truth about themselves, and will censor it.

Hello. A while back I wanted to do something different and decided to join up to a reserve service. I wanted a physical challenge. I therefore decided (rightly or wrongly) that the toughest physical challenge I could think of was to get into the SBS reserve. To that end I joined the RMR which took longer than one would have imagined humanly possible.

I got as far as a few weekends into phase two. A combination of factors led to my dropping back at that point. Some months later a new career/job offer came through and I had to drop the RMR altogether.

During the run up to my deciding what to, joining the RMR and all the time I was doing it, this forum and the military fitness one, provided some useful info. It also provided some cameraderie and a feeling that I was not alone - despite never being a very active poster). I think that's really quite important as a reservist as you need to immerse yourself in the ethos for it to take.

Anyway. Despite the fact that I am no longer doing the RMR I still maintain an interest. I exorcised some demons and a good degree of fitness was obtained into the equation. There were some things I was afraid to ask for fear of getting shot down in flames. That said I think this forum provided a useful service and I would like to thank all of it's members, superheroes and walts alike for allowing me to glean some useful info but more importantly to be part of the military chatter that helped sustain my emotional as well as mental commitment to what I was doing at the time.

It would be shame if that were lost to others. Straighforward answers to questions, a bit of slagging, the odd flame and some genuine advice are genuinely beneficial. So what I would say is, you did me some good guys, keep it up.
