Damn, I never thought of that. Could explain a lot....

I PM'ed you as the moderators have asked for the slagging matches
over this docu to cease. (Particularly as this keeps coming over to
an unrelated thread. )
Your very first post on this Forum was to ignore this advice & jump
on the much travelled bandwagon of " let's have a go at Ria," ...yawn.
( In my opinion, not a very pleasant way for someone to introduce themselves as a newbie. )

You mentioned the "walterimas" on here who are just dreamers.
I would therefore suggest you yourself were, & I quote, "commenting
on the lack of intelligence of fellow Forum members." I simply agreed with you on this.
I also agreed it was a bit of a waste Pip was now in a teaching role.

Why were you blaming ME for the relocation of selection from the Brecons? What the hell has this got to do with me?
And why post this on the "Paras 10" thread???

Who exactly am I manipulating??

I'm aware you are ex. RAF & a civvie PTI, so I'm sure you must have lots
of genuinely good advice to offer on here, other than woffling on about
my docu, & simply repeating what many others have said before.
( When I said " you could potentially be very interesting," I actually
meant it. Not that I think that now however. I've no respect for you
at all anymore. )

You've written 2 posts in succession on my docu thread, & several
on here re the docu, so I think you've made your point.
Let's leave it now before the mods come back on.

I've had enough of this.

Girls, put your handbags down and keep your hands where I can see them.
Enough eye-gouging and hair-pulling already.
Viking with six posts you are already becoming offensive and abusive.
Play nicely or I'll take the ball and go home.

Viking1, Wholley is being far too much of a gentleman.

As always, he is being fair and non-judgemental.

I, on the other hand , am well pissed off with your hounding of a decent, eloquent and articulate female.

I detest your calling women 'luv' and your speaking down to Ria.

You are a 'Johnny Come Lately' on this forum, yet choose to jack-boot around .

I, for one, will not put up with any more of your sexist crap.

Other Mods ..... he has my vote for binning if he continues.

Viking, sounds like through your ranting you might be a tad jelous that Ria is trying to attempt something you either once failed or prehaps regret not doing?

As Sandy says,.. A trail running shoe would be the best bet.

Or, knowing the terrain in that area, a lighter weight canvas style hiking boot would be more than sufficient.

Its very shitt* ground, lots of stones and shale type stuff (unless catterick training area has changed since I had to thrash round it..) so some ankle support yet a lighter weight for faster movement is ideal.

Good to see someone who can admit they've been a bollock.. Welcome to the forums!!

I wouldn't be too sure about that......I'm looking very seriously
into the TA at St. Helens. :D

I've just put my entry in for the Paras 10. Wanted to make sure I could
complete the 9 mile fell race with bergen first.
( Results & pics. Round Hill Fell Race. www.otleyac.co.uk/index.asp
My time wasn't taken. By the time I'd finished getting lost, the guy on
the finish line had buggered off to the pub..... :-? )

If anyone else is planning on doing something like this for practice,
do check the weather forecast first. If it's very hot with unbroken
sunshine, you might want to think twice about racing with a bergen.
I found it very hot on Sunday, & very draining, especially as I ran
out of water. ( The marshals not only removed the route markers,
but f*cked off with the water too. )
Don't forget that poor Marine died on Monday because of the heat.
I certainly have a renewed respect for what heat can do to you.

Viking ..... do not PM me when I have challenged you on open forum. Do the decent thing and answer back on open forum.

Call me 'luv' again and I will call you all the tosspots under the sun.

You have been rumbled.

Wow, a real live argument in my thread! :D

Anyway, all handbag wielding mayhem aside (not you flighty! I meant vik! honest! :D), who is still looking at the para's 10? I'm not likely to be fit enough as I've just had to have a couple of weeks off due to an injury sustained whilst jumping off of my motorbike (again) :(

Hope everyone has a good one on the day though!

?????
So is anyone else doing it apart from Sandy & Scooby64??

How's peoples' training going?
Are you following the training plan on the website?
If not, what training are you doing?
How are you finding doing some training in boots & bergen?

Remember you don't have to do the P Company race, you can do the
runners race in trainers & no bergen.

I thought my boots were fine, until I did a fell race in them.
I found I was twisting my ankles slightly on the rough stoney ground, &
in the bogs.
(I have no idea how those fell runners were legging it up Round Hill
in just trainers. They were like mountain goats. I was stumbling just walking the damn hill..... )
Even the tiniest ankle strain starts to ache like mad after a while, so I
think boots with better ankle support will be on the cards for next years race.

Sorry to do an about-face from my last post! but it seems like I'll be there!

I spoke to my GP, and my trainer at the gym, and it seems like I should be alright to enter after all.

Originally my trainer warned me off of it after my bike accident, but after I posted last tuesday I had a good workout, and after a tentative 5 miles with 35lb this morning it seems like I should be alright for it.

So I've just signed myself up for the P Coy challenge, hopefully I'll see some of you on the day!
