Sometimes i used to take a drink before i trained at the gym called 'Enrage'. It definately lives up to its name, the amount of caffine in it is amazing and after one of them you will be ready to go! I wouldn't rely on it with you're training though, its not as if you can do it down at CTCRM is it?

You could probably fill your water bottle up with the stuff. Naa, best not to rely on it, after all its cheating yourself and proves nothing.AJtothemax wrote:Im suprised that no one here actually knew that to be honest![]()

When i used it, i wouldn't call it cheating on myself. It was just used sometimes to wake me up on sunday mornings ready to train after a night out with mates. After having two of them during two weeks i decided not to use them anymore and just relied on willpower!JCAP3 wrote:You could probably fill your water bottle up with the stuff. I didnt actually read the article JCAP posted but one of the main ways caffeine increases endurance performance is that it means your body chooses to burn fat over carbohydrates (basically), as a result you dont run out of energy as quickly.
Also, the mental benefits dont hurt especially as if running on your own!

Fat produces alot less energy than Carbs so running on fat wouldn't aid endurance but hinder it by a huge amount. When your body switches over to fats, that is "hitting the wall". Therefore your body needs more oxygen to breakdown the fats and your heart has to work harder.thundersafety wrote:I didnt actually read the article JCAP posted but one of the main ways caffeine increases endurance performance is that it means your body chooses to burn fat over carbohydrates (basically), as a result you dont run out of energy as quickly.

(Sorry if I misinterpreted your post)
im beging to think that a lot of people here shlould stop worrying about the science behind the training and just get on with it. the old fashioned way, who cares about where the energy and fitness comes from just as long as you get it!

I ain't worrying about anything, but i know what you mean, just crack on and run, or squeeze them 2 extra reps out, seems to be working for me.
(not for your sit ups though
) only messing.
It can help people mentally though if they know what they are doing is specific to their aims, they might want and actually do their training more?

It won't repair muscle, some form of protein drink with carbs is best for that. Whether it'll give you a "better" workout I don't know. May unnecesarily raise your body temp.euro_andrew wrote:Is it true that if you have coffee before or after your workout it will give you body more energy to repair your muscles or give you a better workout?
dont worry mate their will be an extra 10 push ups and pull ups on my pb by the weekend! i hope!
