Guys, I'm glad my books have become an inspiration. I wish you well in your quest to become bootnecks. Those years are without doubt some of the best years of your life. They were for me. When I got my green beret I felt 10 feet tall. At the end of basic training, it truly is a great feeling as you march off the parade square for the last time and the Adjutant shouts: "ROYAL MARINES, to your duties, quick march." This is the first time you ever get referred to as a Royal Marine and then its the start of a career with some of the best troops in the world.

I finished reading it a couple of days ago and I have to say I am disappointed...

Disapointed it had to end so soon. I read it in a few days which I have never done before with any book, and I loved every minute of it.

It made me want to go out and crap in someones handbag and then headbutt her boyfriend.

Only joking it didn't really.

A good insight into the comaradory of the Royal Marines and I'll definitely be buying the sequel.

yes, I am. I'm working on a Novel about ex bootnecks. I've only written about 70 pages so far, but hope to complete it by the end of the year.

Was kicking myself when I forgot to buy the second book before I left England a few months ago, now Im back its been sold out, but on order and should have it by the end of the week (Unless it comes late, I go on my prmc come back the bookshops closed and I go home the next day...that would suck)

PRM - your tongue in cheek is referred to as someone with a brass neck in the marines. However, I'm a believer that if you don't ask you don't get. Unfortunately, I only received 10 free copies on the release of my book and gave these to family and other ex bootnecks who served with me.

Also: I haven't gave my next book an official title yet, but will let you know when I do.

Here's an idea for you.

As you are writing a fictional book you could draft a couple of chapters and pass onto some members here in confidence, if they like the like of the book you could use this as marketing research to justify an advance from publishers

You might have thought of this but MFAT are happy to help like this if ie helps you in return
