Hi Barryc,

I know I ask alot of questions. I can't help it, I was very inquisitive as a child. Also, the older generation in my family have a tradition of storytelling (I don't mean fairy tales ) of certain events in the past and this thread sort of reminds me of them, if you get my drift.
I'm sure you all still look dashing in your combat gear (muddy or spotless ) and I don't believe you've reached the stage of 'presenile dementia' yet. Make sure you take your medication !

That's a good point about poisonous plants and thorny vegetation in the jungle. Jungle cabbage sounds like the stuff I used eat as a student.

You mean that's healing? If I had that, I'd probably have found the biggest spikiest knife money can buy and hacked the affected area off . And my parents think spiders are great as well, they don't seem to appreciate my personal mission to annihilate all eight legged beings in the house, however "harmless" they're supposed to be .

i bet that guy was sorry he let the spider bite him after that! it would take ages for the area to heal properley. when i looked at the first couple of pictures i thought it couldnt get much worse but when i scrolled down and saw that final picture

Like everything in the jungle,treat with respect,and if you are bitten seek medical help immediately don't be the martyr,or you can end up like the photographs or worst DEED!
It is not only the beasties that can cause problems,the plants and bushes can inflict great pain if you should happen to get caught up in them.This where good team work comes into it!

f@#k hell ,that's one of the sickest things i have ever seen, As soon as I see any insect in my house or office I splat it there and then.

I am not exagerrating when I tell you that I once killed a spider in our house in Sarawak that was the size of a Tarantula and actually jumped off the wall at me! So I hit it with my squash racket. Made a huge mess. Needless to say Nurse was more put out about the mess than my near loss of life and limb.

I suppose prodding it annoyed it!
