No need to worry about the swimming at all Stinky. (Not that you were)
Swimming on the PRMC is just an assessment, on mine it was all breaststroke and was done at a fairly easy pace. It is not test and so is quite a welcome recovery activity. Thats how I treated it.
Once in RT I found I looked forward to swimming, not because I'm the greatest swimmer in the world, but because it was more chilled out and the instructors are more chilled out.
YOur still not aloud to fiddle though.

Get your beret squared away so it doesn’t look like a bag of s**t on your head. Same with your webbing and pretty much all your kit. Its all about first impressions.
If your drill leader was stood in front of you with a big puffed up beret on his head and scratched up drill boots you wouldn’t take him seriously.
When your out on exercises, forget about sleep. Just accept you wont have much sleep and be grateful when you do. The weekend will be coming up and you can catch up then.
Put max effort into not getting flanked on the first morning in the field. I noticed you don’t get usually punished on the 2nd, 3rd 4th etc mornings if you get flanked. You don’t want to be getting thrashed for 20mins running up and down hills and crawling through puddles then staying in that rig all day when its cold and windy.
Wet and dry is not nice it’s a fact but stick in there. Get your wet clothes on as quick as you can otherwise you will freeze.
Do not see your oppos off, especially in the field. Don’t make them do an extra hour of sentry because you’re a jack bastard and want to get more sleep.
Dont leave individuals staying up late getting their kit sorted. If your all squared away then help him out. He will help you the next time you need help. If you try and get your head down early in foundation you wont have much luck as there will be people crashing about making noise sliding their underbed lockers out lol.
Go out and enjoy yourselves on the weekends even if you don’t get that much time.
Do your gear before beer! E.g. de-service your kit properly before you go on a run ashore instead of leaving it til sunday night.
Listen to the nod vine however not everything is like what you hear. Other troops will always make everything sound worse to make them look better.
Dislocation of expectation, be prepared for anything. You never know what they might throw at you next.
Try at all times to avoid being put on poor admin routine and also extra parade. They are just an embuggerance to get you down.
Dont turn up on day one and start bossing people about. You are all in the same boat just work together.
Don’t lose sight of why your there!
