Come on Si,

It's not as if he's sayin he wants to have a little holiday in Hunter is it. If he feels at the moment, this early in his training that he's having problems with his knee's yeh theres a chance he may end up there. I think rambo would agree you don't end up in hunter through lack of effort during training.

Not long now Will. All I can say is bloody good luck chap! I've got another month and a bit to go :(

Machiavellian, are you going to Navy Days this weekend, since you're in Devon and it's on at Devonport? I'm not sure if I can make it because I'm going camping sunday night and it starts at 9am on monday.
Relax ; Nothing is under control

It can happen to anyone during training so dont rule out the fact that is not going to happen to you. Hunter isnt really a holiday either, if you think that your very much mistaken.

Navy Days 2004

Post by james_m »

Jamie,
I made it to Navy Days as I live in North Devon, and I can say it was brilliant! (Well I thought so anyway). We went around HMS Ocean and had a chat to some guys from 42 Commando. Then went on a Landing Craft (a big one) out to HMS Albion that was in the middle of the estuary and docked with it (back opended and the LC went in). Then got a little LC (one with a roof) back again. Sorry I dont know the technical names of the crafts maybe someone would like to tell me!
Anyway as I said I thought it was brilliant!

Cheers

My old man went down to that navy day thing he said that whn the royal marines done an assualt onto the ship a few of them had to climb up on ropes to get on the ship and apparently one Royal never even made it half way up before returning to the bottom. At this time my aold man was stood next to a high ranking officer, he wasdisgraced that the ROyal never attempted to get up again and that he had to use the stairs.....

Actually Will some do end up in Hunter due to lack of effort.

Two types of biff, physical and professional.

If you don't make the grade on ex or on a test then you go to Hunter for remedial training.

It's a shitty place to end up but no one should make the mistake of believing it's a break from training. Four hours phys every day, normal lessons, physio if you're a biff and then the usual admin and bullshit that every nod gets.

Quick changes, bed musters in the drill shed and mud runs, which if 60% of the troop are on crutches is quite amusing to watch  Plus writing Hunter Troop in teh Exe is a bigger pain in the arse than just your troop number :o
