Rugby lad I know the feeling, I’m a pack monkey as well, although I’ve played all over, currently flanking but I’ve also done the tight five, its not nice is it, and the extra running you have to do as a flanker more than makes up for not having your head squashed…

ohh yea also had some back problems, it cost a small student fortune to get it fixed...

Yeh i played second row for years. But to be honest i got sick of staring at some props hair fat ass and getting stamped on all the time, fortunately for me im 6ft 4 and there are bigger donkeys than me around,so flanker it is.

Rugby Lad, tough break mate! my old man had the same happen to him back in the day, only problem was the doc was so bone he didn't put the thing back in cos he didnt realize it was out!!!!!  , so the old boy had 3 hrs of passing in and out of consciesness. Unfortunately for him none of the operations he had worked and as such every now and then it goes pop :-? He never played again  so he makes up for it by watching ruggers 24/7 and sponsoring a team...lol

Fortunately for me, I managed to put it back in about 30 seconds afterwards. It took that long as a ruck formed over the top and I couldn't move  .

It bloody hurt mind you :x .

I tried to do what big Wesley did in the film 'Blade 8) ' after he dislocated his shoulder (grabbing onto a moving train if you remember). Didn't work :( . So after a bit of wiggling it went back in :) .

So....

What sport related injuries have you encountered, or any for that matter?

Just read what I wrote and spotted a flaw. For those of you who've NOT seen Blade, don't be thinking that he fixes a dislocation by grabbing a moving train. That's just daft.

He seems to yank the arm out the socket even further and then sort of snaps it back into place.

So what have we learnt from this.... don't copy Mr. Snipes in his attempt to solve a dislocation.

Rubgy Lad

P.S - Is it me, or does the tattoo Snipes has in Blade (across his neck/shoulders) look well good??

Does Mel Gibson's style work any better, or did you not experiment (Lethal Weapon)??

Being a short-arse, I always played scrum-half (up til last year anyhow, quit for exams and extra drinking time). I was playing up to Colt level at 5'5" at the time, and I was without fail the smallest playing on the pitch, game in game out. Never got a serious injury, concussion a few times, knocked out twice, but the worst it ever got was tackling a big eff-off 8 in full flow from behind, got a boot in me face, and me canine went straight through my lip. Washing the blood out of my mouth, water just dribbled out of this little hole an inch under my lip, I kid you not. Ref blood binned me for the rest of the game cos the damn thing wouldn't stop bleeding.

Where/what level did/do you lads play??

I've only been playing for little over a year now.

I play Bilborough college and for Ilkeston Town Colts, who won the NLD (Notts, Lincs and Derby) league last year.

I've played for the East Midlands Colleges a couple of times and had full midlands trials, but was turned down dut to lack of experience and also the fact that the flankers that were there were superb, two had represented England.

Been out all of this season though, bar one match (which did me no good at all)

So i'm gagging to get back.

Do the RMR have rugger teams???

From reading of the good old Navy News I would say that the RM in general provide a good amount of the RN side?
