Blown Out of Proportion

Post by Ste Preece »

This minor, blown out of proportion incident, has nothing to do with what happened to me at the start of my career, 22 years ago!! at 45 Commando. And to be honest I have no bones about it. That unit was put in order around 1985 and I never saw anything of that nature take place again. The lads who had returned from the Falklands War got split up and posted out to ships detachments etc, and I toke my resolve with the tw*t who gave me a midnight shake some time later. That was my way. A bit of scrapping amongst the ranks maybe!!, but hey that's human nature.

As for this video, it looks to me like they lads were having a bit of fun. They were using rollmats in a similar fashion to boxing gloves, not bare knuckle fighting!! The guy on his knees who was goffered and kicked said something to the guy in the medical outfit, which made him flash and react. Who knows what he said, but I bet you it was all put in order when they sobered up the following day. Lets put this bullying thing in the 21st century to bed. It was stamped out in the Corps around 1990 and the press are trying to blow it out of proportion.

Surely, you can all see that.

Artists comments were accurate: The NCOs do keep the men in order and give them guidance and leadership when they need it. This current issue is isolated and like I said blown out of proportion.

........ or the antics on any of HM Ships when the 'Crossing the Line' ceremony takes place.

Talk about dressing up and bullying!!! They would have a field day.

I didn't report the ones I witnessed, or film them, as I didn't actually understand what the hell was going on, and who was doing what to whom, or why! I was more worried about being caught and half drowned.

I'm sure JR knows the full story, and where his trident is hidden.

:D Oh hell! Royal decides to have a 'Jolly' PC brigade enter the arena, and decides its blatant bullying,in the words of the prophet 'bollocks' its Royal doing what Royal do's best enjoy himself.

If the press could get hold of some of the antics that go's on in the various mess's they'd have a field.

and as Derek says i've seen more goings on in a crossing the line ceremony.

Derek....
There is me trying to think when an occasion that happened to me, like the one reported and having a problems remembering anything!!.

Then you come up with a prime example of "Crossing the Line Ceremony" I guess a tad different to those carried out on board Civvies cruise lines, but you are right, its all similar and totally good fun and in no way sexual.....

Well for most of us that is and if it was, then you usually can see who is that way inclined!

I'm going to comment at last on this topic.
"Crossing the Line"
Done it three times and have the "Get out of Jail"Card granted by King Neptune. There was naked going's on and a little drunkeness(Well a lot really,For those off watch.)
This whole thing is no but the liberal press's attempt to discredit the Military.
Abu Graib comes to mind.
There are elements in both the US and UK who would just love to see the Military discredited and to pull out of the current situation,Leaving both countries with a distrust of the Military leadership and a hatred of Soldiers in general,Circa Vietnam.
I'm a little suprised that Jane Fonda has'nt piped up about the brutalisation of young Marine's.

Two Cents,Just my and worth.

In an exclusive interview with News of the Shite, Crewe mother of two pours out traumatic evidence of serial bath abuse of an ex-serving member of the Royal Navy. Speaking only yesterday the un-named owner of No6 described how on entering her bathroom after the matelot had used the facilities she was horrified to find a rim of grim around the bath tub. Holding back tears and last nights chinky she went on to describe how he had used toilet roll to wipe his arse during his stay.
The ex-serviceman has since handed himself into Cheshire Police and through his solicitor offered this statement....."Fark off, I was stitched up by that farking Bootneck bloke who falls into canals!" Whilst DNA evidence is at this time in-conclusive, our reporter understands.......fark all. In light of recent events involving the Royal Marines and now its Parent Service the Royal Navy, does this mean at last Tony Blair will seek a complete overhaul of the Armed Services bathing routines. An MoD spokesman said "Whilst the RN cannot be judged on this appalling but nonetheless isolated incident, we do have grave concerns regarding the army and its refusal to use baths or showers of any kind!" The Army refused to comment on the MoD's statement for operational reasons. The ex Naval rating was understood to have served with the RM as a medical assistant during the nineties and at one point following an exercise had a bath in Plymouth. Devon and Cornwall Police are now investigating to see if the two incidents are connected.

There are more photos out today. And some are just a bit disturbing...

Anyone else happened to see them?

Also one thing i wanted to say... On ITV news today they had 2 guests. One was that colenol who gets around, and the other was a Psychiatrist who was based at Sandhurst for 8 years. For the love of good why do they have 2 blokes who have nothing to do with the RM?

It might help the public to see how Royal think, if Royal tells them...
