Go back to Iraq, Saddam.
Are you sure that is what you want Ben? Surely there has just been a war to get the geezer out of there.

URNU Student , This is a MILITARY WEBSITE and everyone bar a few have served overseas and been there and done that.We as military folk back one another up because we know what it is like to be sh*t on from great heights. If foreigners come to our GREAT BRITAIN and mouth off then send them back to their bibical type country with their bibical way of thinking, and tell them not to come back. Also tell those potential asylum/economical migrants not to bother as Britain is for the British.

Genuine immigrants who want to work and be part of Britain and who will CONTRIBUTE to Britain are very welcome, not some mouth piece who is supporting the Taliban/Al-Qaeda/or some other brain dead cause in the name of Islam. :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist:

That story about the Asylum seeker who put a couple of stitches in his eyes and mouth as a protest - Was it someone here or someone from my work who said 'You could start up a lucrative business selling sewing kits to Asylum Seekers'

Is was reported today on Radio one about 'The Royal Marine that attacked an Iraqi assylum seeker.' I don't know much about the story myself but going by whats been said on here it seems the BBC have yet again taken the view that the victim is the criminal and that bloody Iraqis can do no wrong. I hope the privatise it soon or at least get rid of the distasteful bias in its bollox news reporting.

It was Radio 1, because the radio station is aimed at young people it seems even more PC and bollox than the rest of the corporation. They never let truth get in the way of a good story. When the headline was read out there was absolutely no mention of the RM being stabbed by some tosser who has just come off the bottom of a Eurostar who has never contributed to this country in anyway or that there is a real problem with refugees forming violent knife wielding gangs. Don't really expect anything else to honest. It would great to put them straight, but they are so bloody arrogant and firm in their beliefs that they can never be wrong and anyone who tries to object is a nazi, BNP man, someone who fuels extremeists etc blah blah. Give them hell:2gunfire: :fist:

Haven't heard anything about the incident on TV or radio but the following piece is on the BBC Website.

Marine denies attack on refugee

A 24-year-old Devon-based Royal Marine has pleaded not guilty to causing actual bodily harm to an Iraqi refugee.
Scott Burborough of Stonehouse Barracks, Plymouth faced the charge at the city's magistrates court.

He denied assaulting Maryan Tawfiq in Plymouth on 5 June.

Mr Burborough elected to be tried at a crown court and his case was adjourned until 17 September.

He was granted unconditional bail.

Fair point gash-hand, but what media company do you listen to the or don't you trust any one ?? I am not saying that I believe The Sun or The Daily Mail, but you keep a open mind. And hearing that a asylum seeker knifes a Royal Marine, well that sounds like something that could defiantly happen.

I don't believe every thing I read in the newspaper but I do keep a open mind and judge each story on it's own merit.

Jason,

if you really want to keep an open mind then ditch reading tabloids. The Daily Mail and express incense me the most purley because of the image they try to portray of themselves - that of a broadsheet publication in a easy to handle package.

At least with the Sun, Star, Mirror etc everyone knows they're basically reading an opinionated comic. The Mail and Express are just as opinionated, and sometimes more so, except they try to pass themselves off as serious informative newspapers - instead of the knee jerked, reactionary, propagandor fuelling self gloryfying trash that they really are.

I myself hold no alegience to any particular newpaper or newsprogram instead preferring to browse the various offerings. If you want me to name names then I guess the following would be a start:

Financial Times
Daily Telegraph (to try and pick out the mi5/mi6 messages)
Times
Independent
Guardian
Newsnight
Channel 4 news
Panaroma

Any of the above web sites too.

Give it a go.
