Guys, ref tonight`s news
I was astonished by the meagre coverage on B.B.C. Referances to British Troops etc. The item lasted at least thirty seconds.
On I.T.V., by comparison, they did show a more complete picture, but here again, they refered to a major ammunition store as "abandoned weapons"
You don`t abandon weapons,on this scale,in hand-carved tunnels, you simply chuck them away. This was a large scale dump. They did, at least, mention "Marines"
I found the whole coverage played down what our boys had achieved by taking this amount of kit out of circulation.

Looked like one hell of a bang, though!

God bless and Good Luck to them,

yours,Aye

Sun Headline
PONGO MEDICS ALL HAVE THE SHITES

must be their "army training"

Yet again the best coverage was on I.T.V.
However, the Beeb did have Elmer`s boy(that`s Gen Tommy Franks to y`all) saying "y`all come back now, y`hear" or similar.

Symptoms sound like Gastro Enterittis (raging wildies), and multiple infections are caused by......guess what?

Step forward that man who said" lack of hygiene whilst preparing food, Sir"

Sounds vaguely similar to a story about 40 Cdo having to have their mess bins steamed after they were contaminated by Perce using a galley Down South. Anyone who remembers this, please give us a Rembrant.

To our brothers in arms in R.A.M.C. , I say that traditional Scottish farewell
"Och, away and shite"

Same old same old tonight,
Beeb coverage was shite. Prick reading news said"300 Royal Marine Commanders" F**k, didn`t know we had that many  Reporter gave a poor "piece to camera" cut with film shot by Navy phot. He ended by saying this mission would end in success or embarrassment.
Well, this really got on my tits. Our guys were boarding a Chinook to go into combat, for them this is the real deal. For the pratt reporter, safe in Bagram, it was almost a joke.
By contrast, I.T.V. were much nearer the mark. James Mates, their reporter, can even say" Commandos" The footage was largely the same, but the differance in the tone of the commentary gave two completely differant perspectives. Frankly the Beeb need to sort out their staff on the ground. I.T.V. 3, B.B.C O

By the way, Lads, feel free to join in. This isn`t just my thread you know

Harry No Mates :(

I saw some coverage tonight about the "mystery ilness" that has struck some down. Health expert seemed to think it was caused/transmitted by bad hygiene. Seems that it`s mainly our Pongoloid brothers that have been struck down.

WELL NO SH*T SHERLOCK

Having seen and worked alongside Percy in all his crabby glory on numerous occasions all I can say is that it was bound to happen.
Could this not be a lesson to learn.

It`s a very apt phrase...Wherever the Army goes, the etc etc etc...

P.S. Harry...I`m surprised you have time to watch the news, what with all your posting on here :D

complete arseholes(I love that word,so descriptive).
Are any of you lads billeted near that bloke Angus something or other,
Deaton,If so please re arrange his face a little, for the crass remarks he
made on his programme last night, re Marines and dope, our tele was lucky to survive.

Guys,
two things. Firstly, from the Telegraph today, seems like a forward base had two "overs" from a missile launcher. As the base was being moved, someone decided not to launch an immeadiate Search and Destroy. Bad thing.
Secondly, a forward O.P. came under fire and two hostiles got the good news. Good Thing. :D

Aye,

I refer to my post on page 1 of this thread.
Looks like those b##@"$d hacks couldn't find much to write about. So the easy way out is to pick at what is close by, ie those left in camp when the unit is out on Ops.
My contempt for 99% of the media knows no bounds.

Navy News had a good piece this month and some good phots. Although, the 0.5 team on the HMG looked Harry Threaders, the snipes on the L96 looked like Mr F**king Dangerous!
Allso, step forward that "star" from "Behind The Lines" WO1 Russ C****G. Now RSM 45 Cdo. Giving a typical M.L. ruggsie pose, "the sky looked threatening, the M.L. threatened back" he was definately in need of a shave.
Good stuff, read it if you know any Matelots

Latest buzz,
our guys are homeward bounders by the end of July. Watch the media coverage slagging them off.
Denying an enemy the tactical use of ground by aggresive patrolling and disrupting his logistics, whilst obviously pissing the "Hearts and Minds" game, are not bad things. The only Contact that we know about scored "Royals_2, Bad Guys_0".

And yet the slags still use the phrase "without firing a shot"

Gives I the shites,

Hackedoff as ever,

The guys were asked to go and do a job, they've apparently done it. But as the Hacks (not H's family, but Murdochs lot) didn't get to see any death or glory stuff, the lads get slated.

Thats why Ive recently given up the rags.

Everyone out in Afgan have done well, without haste and without rest. The president elect has heaped praises on them for a job well done - but without crossing borders there's little else to achieve so hurry home lads and WELL DONE.

Does that mean you`ve gone through the change, Muts?

Apparently, H.R.T. might improve the situation. :splat:

Good to see that you`re in touch with your feminine side again

Wouldn`t go that far meself, though.
