bleep test
I'll second that - the physiotherapist has finally given me the all clear to run again, something I haven't done in a very long time. I've got a bleep test at the end of March. Any advice would be very much appreciated, I need help!DLink011 wrote:Shadowcreeper,
you say there is a certain way in which to carry out the bleep test...Could you please enlighten us on how this is conducted?
(btw, it's not a dire situation as I can get the required standard, I just want to do really well)
No Chappy I'm not "bull shitting". What reason have I got to lie about that ?All these Lvl 14s - surely your bullshitting
I didn't think anything of it at the time, but then reading the above posts it appears level 14/15 is rarely reached.
Level 14/15 would be laughed at within most athletics/running clubs, and isn't anything unbelievable like certain people are implying.
Rich.
p.s. GGHT whats this

Well, they say that when you do it at your PRMC/POC to expect a lower than usual score to account for nerves and the fact that your not fresh when your doing it.
If you were all getting 14/15 i would say it sounds like you did not get thrashed enough in the build up, or you have some really fit recruits to start with at your unit.

Nerdy Running Links
Nerdy running links re bleep test/vo2 max if anyone is interested;
http://www.topendsports.com/testing/beepcalc.htm
http://www.runnersweb.com/running/vo2_j ... anchorcalc
According to these links with a VO2 max of around 57, I'm capable of about a 13 on the bleep test. As I can run a sub 3 hour marathoner and have a resting pulse in the mid 30's (which is considered pretty good) I'm quite surprised to hear how far off the pace I am with all these 14's and 15's being mentioned! very impressive stuff.......or bullshit!
Has the RMR set up a recruiting post in Kenya?

Re: Nerdy Running Links
According to my VO2 max, I should, in theory, be able to get much higher on the bleep test than I can in practise. Unless you've got good technique for it, surely the bleep test isn't that accurate a predictor of VO2 max?Oyaji wrote:According to these links with a VO2 max of around 57, I'm capable of about a 13 on the bleep test
