Correct!
The difference between SF and Elite may be small in wording but it is huge in practice. UKSF by nature are small because they are so specialist!
Not withstanding that,there are several units within HM Forces who, although not officially classed as SF are considered to be by those who serve or have served in the officially recognised SF units. They would be the first to admit that they couldn't maintain operational effectiveness without these units!

I posted all that earlier in the thread. I stated firmly that the only units which were at DOY Bcks were SAS and SBS but that MOD had classed commando units as SF as well.

I'm not arguing about it. I've merely posted what I've found out.

According to the Senior Service website thingy only the SBS are SF, not the RM Commando.

In fact if you ask them, they would not claim to be.

The SF in this country are SAS and SBS. There are a few supporting units and a few more (small) units, that could be classified as SF. 14 Int. Det. springs to mind.

Anything as large as a Commando Unit (or a Para Battalion) - especially one that normally operates as an infantry battalion, cannot be SF.

I don't care what the MOD say. They will say anything under this f*****g government that makes things sound better than they are.
