Length isnt everything yes theoretically you will cover more but its the intensity of the course which matters. You really cannot compare the training they recieve as they are not really the same. Of course from my slightly biased mouth the marines training is more intense

Wasnt it right at some point in time parachute trained marines outnumbered actuall paras by some amount. Just to add to the arguement

Length of training and fitness don't make a good unit.

Fitness is just the means to an end.

Both the Para and RM units are the elite in this country and possibly the world.

The true answer is we are both the dogs bollox.

Chris, all that time we have spent coaching and training you and the first time some Jessie drops his bait and hook in the pond you rise like a three badge trout and snaffle the lot! Easy boy! Have a laugh, then drag him into the pond by his rod
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Oh the irony :).

And I can't say I've ever heard of paras doing the commando course simply to get commando trained, I assume the paras don't need commando skills while on the other hand the RM's can use para trained men.
READY FOR ANYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Except grammar lessons I presume... ;)
