No reason. Go for whatever you feel you'd be best at.

If someone told me they where a Turdblossom, they wouldn't hear the last of it and if you had to live in the same dorms as me then farkin ell you'd probably want to kill me cause I'd go on and on and on and on and... :o ...on.

Turd Blossom
A mostly crustified piece of crap which hangs on anal hairs (in other words, a recently discharged dingleberry). Looks hard, but secretes its soft innards when squeezed.

"Better remove and disarm these turdblossoms before they wreak havoc in my tighty whities!"

Good luck marzipan all the best.

Someone advised you to tell your training team in basic... maybe deal with the whole issue when you are doing your trade training or whatever, I am a TA soldier and did my basic at Bassingbourne where there are also intakes for the regulars and they're a gungey bunch of spotty herberts - tackle it when your not almost exclusively in the company of teenagers who might lack the emotional maturity to cope should they get wind of it!

I went on a battlefield tour with my unit recently and on the coach out of town there were two blokes getting very friendly outside on the street which caused all sorts of uproar on the coach, then a diwali celebration was spotted out of the other window, which prompted anti islam uproar! Diwali celebration is observed by Hindus, Jains and Sikhs - forking idiots! The irony of travelling overseas to commemorate people who died for freedom was not lost on me! But anyway it was all pretty harmless and mostly in the name of extracting humour from the situation! I have to keep quiet about seeing the positive aspects of immigration when I'm at my unit! We all have a cross to bear! :) Now get stuck in on the other threads!

Listen, sweetness, some of the "advice" you have had on here is good stuff, but a lot is just plain duff! Rule number one: Be you rown man and get the fark on with your life!

If you want to join, then bloody join. Do yourself a favour, though...do not make your sexual orentation an issue...ever! You want to be miserable and eventually realise you've made a stupid mistake in joining? Then by all means allude to your sexuality early in your career among twots you barely know. Give yourself a break. Get through your training, earn some trust as a good soldier and crack on (no pun intended!). Once you're established (and believe me, that can take an inordinately long time!) then and only then allow it to come to the fore when your best judgement is at its peak. Anything less than that and you are likely to get your head panned in big time.

I've known one or two who like to put from the rough over the years (not in the biblical sense!). Scouse Mertag was a hard-as-nails recce guy. No one messed with him. I only found out years after he'd left that he was bent. He was a good lad and a good soldier.

Another was a different story. Barrack room lawyer, armchair philosipher, with a "greater-than-thou" attitude. He was a shiftless whiner who was always playing the system. Got his head royally filled in eventually. Farking O2 thief!

Personally, I'm not into puffs or dykes in the armed services. I was at a mess dinner once where a couple of fur raders from different units attended. Turns out they were living together. It was less than optimally comfortable for all concerned, especially when it came to introduction with the guest of honour, etc. (Cringe!!).

One last thing: You coming on here with a handle like "marzipanglue" tells me perhaps your head isn't quite where it should be. Don't ever try the "cutesy" camp route, it will get you rogered with the rough end of a Coke bottle faster than you can sceam "I'd rather be thrown of the third-floor balcony"! Shut yer gob, do yer job and survival, and perhaps even an enjoyable career, is more likely.

I have very strong opinions about homo-sexuality
and the misappropriation of the word 'gay'. Should
you decide to join the services I suggest you become
profficient in your duties and under no circumstances
indicate your sexual persuasion. Do not flaunt it and
don't go on gay pride marches. You may not like this,
but in reality if you do you will regret it. If you are overtly
homo-sexual you will be ridiculed or even worse. In the
end it is your choice but don't expect life to be easy even
with the current legislation (relating to the services) which
in my opinion is totally misguided.

We were in one of those new ITD lectures comunity relations or something like that. The subject about homosexuals was brought up by the young lady taking the lecture. The CSM got up and said there were none in his company and he would only let them into the company when it was acceptable for him to take a shower with her. That sort of killed the rest of the conversation.

Doesnt GAY nowdays mean rubbish, Sh*t, crap. So if your any off these then you shouldnt be joining anyway.     ........................OK crap joke over with.

We have a openly Gay lad in our Reg, hes a good lad and one serously beleives they will be jumped. He showers with all the other lads, dries his b*llocks with the rest of us and no one gives a sh*t because hes adecent bloke. He gets the mickie taken about it but its never nasty and he gives it back.

Personelly I cant understand how any man would rather sleep with Gareth Jenkins rather than Kathern Jenkins.
