I don't know if there's a more streamlined route than that given that you're transferring across services, with completely different officer training as well as all the differences inherent in the services themselves. It probably wouldn't be good for your career either (and Orificers do tend to be career men).
Druadan has hit the nail on the head as far as I'm concerned. Back in the seventies blokes could join on a short service commission for three or four years. All they needed was 6 'O' Levels. Ditto recruits could join for three years and then leave.

These days it's different. You join one service and stick to that service unless your deemed unsuitable during training in which case you may be offered the chance to transfer to another service. So it's taken as read that you are joining for a minimum of 9 years service with one part of the armed forces and no other.

The short service commission is still for four years. If you want to transfer you have several choices.

There is a cadet at sandhurst who is an ex-marine. He did his minimum time in the Marines, got out, went to uni and is now at Sandhurst.

There are a couple of Navy Officers who are transferring but have to do Sandhurst, even though they have been in for four plus years.

I have heard that some people can transfer just to the Phase two training, i.e. special to arm stuff. This would obviously be if they felt you had covered enough of basic training.
