Just for the record, shin splints arent just when the muscle seperates from the bone, muscle isn't actually stuck to the bone, it's attached by tendons.
Shin splints are when either the bone fractures into small "splints"
or
The muscle that makes up the area around the shin swells but the sheath that surrounds the muscle tissue doesnt expand with it as it hasnt adapted yet. Also know as compartment syndrom, similar to that suffered by people with carpal tunnel syndrom in the wrist.
Either cause is an issue if chronic, acute issues shouldnt be trained on and chronic issues need a GP visit.
