I got it in an email mate but if it's being passed around via email, it is more than likely one one of those.

That's quite a naive statement if you believe that the person who invented this story wasn't targeting Muslims and you say it's making the point, but what point is it making exactly?

Is it the point that you can make up any old crap and as long as people want to believe it they will?

Or is it making the point that if you want to get a point across then it's ok to falsify an example to demonstrate your opinion?

I wasn't saying that you were a racist or that you're wrong in your views that if people don't like our traditions then they should go back to where they came from, in fact I completely agree with you. However I refuse to play into the hands of the people who churn out this kinds of propaganda.

The fact that this isn't an actual event is extremely important, because if it never actually happened then no one would get wound up about it but as long as people buy into it and treat it as fact then the racists (and believe me they are racist) who started this have gotten what they want.

The idea is for them to create a situation where the reader is outraged at the behaviour of the person/s involved, they tend to use vague descriptions ie Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha, (which also cleverly brings up the the image of an extremist/alien culture as most people find face veils a strange concept) in order to focus attention on the group/community they're targeting so that in this case it's not about the behaviour of the single woman in the story but instead associates the opinions voiced with the Muslim community as a whole.

The BNP used to issue pamphlets with stories of how gangs of Asian men where going round raping white girls so that they'd have Muslim babies so that they could increase their numbers. This may be far more subtle but in essence it's the same thing and has the same purpose of dividing our communities and if they achieve that aim then none of us will have peaceful lives.

The "PC Brigade" also has a lot to answer for as they help breed the sense of discontent when you get stupid announcements/articles like, the Union Jack is a symbol of the slave trade, Christmas offends ethnic minorities etc..etc.... which increase tensions over issue that don't even exist and extremist groups like the BNP etc.. use this to their advantage.

 Thats because the PC brigade is a common phrase to describe the type of people who want to remove our national identity to avoid it offending anyone else; and as Alfa correctly points out, end up fuelling racist tensions. It pisses me off that you think just because people are observant enough to notice that there are problems with this country they're f@#k idiots. You seem to have a majpr problem with the word because you like to class yourself as part of it and misunderstand what people mean; many people who are pro-muliticulturilism and pro-immigration will recognise the PC brigade. If you are someone who can't tell the difference between people who don't support human rights abuses etc. and who are just out to complain and make ridiculous changes that no one else views as necceasry; then I think your a f@#k idiot.

You already answered your own question that you put to me.

You've typed that whole thing out as if I didn't actually understand what I was reading when I read it. That's extremely naive of you to think of me like that.

You said you agree with me about intergrating with our cultre. For arguements sake, a Muslim lady wearing a Burkha who isn't allowed to be seen by another man. Call that intergration??

That totally out does all of what you have posted.

I have never heard of such things like what the BNP have done. That's totally disgusting. That's Nazi behaviour and just downright evil.

Head games are dangerous for the weak minded.
Unfortunately for them and other's, including yourself Alfa, I don't fall into that catagory.

Not many can master the sweet science matey, hopefully you'll be one of them. Keep your jab crisp and fast, look for that opening (preferably when they drop their elbow) - chin em. 8)

I'm behind Hatton all the way. If he's done his homework on Mayweather's style, he should beat him (First with your head). His got the bigger heart (and then with your heart). We'll see tomorrow morning though.

Right.
I will finally bite.
This is an answer to a question another member bought up.
The Flag of the USA is'Old Glory'.
However, the flag of the Confederate states is'The Stars and Bars'
Now banned in most southern states by guess who?Lawyers and minorities who wish to re-write history.
(As you were Sully) :D
The excuse is the flag reminds people of slavery so it should not be flown.
The war of northern aggression had nothing to do with slavery but everything to do with Lincoln's megalomania.
Only Georgia and Mississippi still fly the Confederate flag above their state houses.
North Carolina never did as it did not at first wish to succeed from the union.
When it did it sent and lost more soldiers than any other state of the Confederacy
(Now you can start Sull)

I might actually look into U.S history more. We did a little bit was I was at school but that was tied in studying English history. It sound's a bit complex.
By the way Wholley, hope I was of some help. :D

What are you referring to, my whole reply or the part you quoted about me explaining I wasn't saying you were being racist?

Where did I mention that wearing a Burkha/face veils is perfectly fine for integration?
AJtothemax wrote:Head games are dangerous for the weak minded.

Why would it be unfortunate for me that you're not weak minded?

As for Dangermouses comment ref the PC Brigade, it's a tag for people who come up with stupid ideas/suggestions under the guise of not offending certain people, ie; suggesting the lyrics of ba ba black sheep be changed to ba ba rainbow sheep so that black people wouldn't be offended. Now let's face it as if a black person is going to be offended by calling it a black sheep.

So I'm talking about individuals not some kind of organisation and I'm not talking about people who are seriously representing Human Rights or Freedom of speech just those few who come out with complete rubbish.

Also don't you think it's a little childish labelling people idiots for using a phrase because you personally don't agree with it?
