Sort of answered your own question there did you not?,
Course its a good score, you know it as well!
I know its good by our year groups standards yes, (im not bragging just mearly asking oppinions) but as i am looking to be a officer in the royal marines the standerds/ fitness levels are leauges above. i no its a long way of me even going for officer or even geting the qualifications for that matter, but i wanted to see if this is a good enough score for a lad my age who is seriusly considering becoming a royal marine in later life, (i was thinking mabye that ex-marines or people close to that goal could put me right and say that theres aolt of work to be done as you need such adn such a level i was achiving x and y at 14 or that im on track ) which ever the answer it would have been and in some cases has been greatfully recived.
I appologise if it seems i am bragging or praise seeking... i promiss im not i just like to have something to compair my self against and also something to aim for.
you wouldnt believe how how many people fail the police bleep test, it is 5.4 in the vast majority of forces to pass and a lot of people struggle to get even to that. very disturbing. last one i did 2 people dropped out at level 3 and most of the people in my group thought 5.4 was too hard, ridiculous.
i believe the odd scottish force still does a 1.5 mile run to test fitness, may be wrong though.

i could almost swear the bleep test used by the marines is faster then another other one ive done, your jogging straight from the start, as compared to school/college ones i've done in the past you can start at a fast walk with time to spare.
that police thing is ridiculous!im sure level 5-6 is a fast walk/slow jog? how can they be expected to chase criminals etc with such poor levels of fitness
Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that, if the British Empire and its Commonwealth last for a thousand years, men will still say, 'This was their finest hour'
5.6 for police is ridiculous - how they expect a bobby to chase a chav down the street if he can't jog gently for 5 minutes??? Even the prison service expect you to get level 6, and lets face it - prison guards aint really got anywhere to run!!
there was one person in my group at school who dropped ut at level 3.1 now im not into slaging people off but for a lad of 14-15 shurly theres got to be smething seriusly wrong with that... im not sujesting every one should be fitness fanatics or train all the time (how boring a life would that be) but not being able to do that tiny amount of exersize has got to be a health thret more than anything.
just shows how rubish schools (especialy p.e) and some parents are at promoting a healthy life style even walking to school every day, and playing team sports or some form of exersize out of school for one or two hours and eating a decent diet whould leave most people capable of a level 6 + on the bleep test.
level 5.6 on the police bleep test is 'running' for give or take, 3.5 minutes. unbelievable.
I remember walking the first level of a bleep test aswell, but i did one recently in uni that started as a jog. I think the differecne is the fact that in uni and particularly the marines make sure its 20m. At school they are more likely to just do it roughly so you might actually find it being a bit less that 20m - im guessing, i don't really know for sure but thinking back at the old hall i did my bleep test in school, theres no way it was 20m.
lads maximum they go upto on bleep test is 13 on prmc although sometimes they apparently go further . i got level 11 on prmc and passed some lads got level 9 and passed bleep test isnt really a test of endurance one lad got level 13 but struggled on assault course and 3 miler its more about your timing i think and keeping it at the right pace instead of speeding off ahead.
Don't consider failure and then it wont consider you!
Funny old thing being good at the bleep test will not guarantee you being fit enough to complete RT. I got a lev 10.9 and I'm still with my original troop. People who got lev 13 some are in hunter or backtrooped. Basically bleep test is probably not the best way in measuring fitness for the training you might undertake

Spot on. One of the lads who im still in contact with from 920 was on the lower end of fitness at the beginning of RT, and went right through when much fitter lads were failing 6 mile speed march, bottom field passout etc.
