This may be old news, but one of hardest variations I ever tried on the press-up theme was 'team' press-ups, where each person rests his/her ankles on the shoulders of the person behind him/her.
We were doing them in groups of three, the easiest place was at the back (feet on the ground), and the hardest in the middle (elevated feet, and someone else's ankles on your shoulders), but no reason not to make a circle, if you've got enough people...
Oh, and hand-clap-behind-your-head press-ups can be good for a laugh
(never been crazy enough to try, but seen them done).
Those gymnastic things just took my breath away, btw.
