There is a whole range of evt ressettlement courses and cash to be had.
A lesson learned the hard way by many of my oppo's is that once you put your chit in 12 months doesn't half fly by!! chuck in an operational tour and you will find yourself sitting out side the gates wondering where all the time went......along with all the course etc.
The Financial aspects of leaving improve at 6 years (I think)
The ££ package seems particularly large when initially discussed, but is broken down into so many sh*t compartments ie travel/accommodation/daily scran/a percentage up front followed by a final lump sum on completion of training!!!!!!!!!!!!
You keeping up?
Basically a course run near to home/ port area is a waste of time as no daily scran/accom.......... can be claimed, which is where the lolly is!
Bottom line is you virtually have to defraud pusser to come out evens or go away on some dodgy training package abroad cash all in.
The UIO's blood pressures must leap as they see royal at the office door with a fist full of receipts and a head full of good ideas!
Hope that answered your question (possibly)
Advice to those making the leap!!
get it squared before you even put your chit in.
ie what am I going to do.
when am I going to do it (remember leave is paid, get the timing right) How am I gonna survive the initial months after leaving (Start saving)
Have all courses booked and done in the first six months.
And remember pussers courses are free!! once the chit goes in pusser puts you right on the back burner!
I'm starting to ramble, hopefully some of that made sense and wasn't too grandma and eggs for anyone. (if it was you must have left and joined up again only to chit in again!!! MAKE YOUR FLIPPIN' MIND UP)
B******Ks Can't recall what the thread was
