Maybe I've missed something, but why is there talk of war with North Korea? Because they're communist? Because they've got a big army?

War is not an option here. The US should stay the hell out of it. Western leaders need to strengthen trade links and communication with China. China has a lot to offer the West and vice versa.

The cold war is over. Communism will not spread and western leaders have no reason to fear it.

But a war with N. Korea and China? We have every right to fear that!

The silly north korean leader Kim Jun Ill (or something along that line) signed the non-proliferation treaty a while ago, but has clearly stated recently that he's not respecting his engagements anymore and will pursue the development of nuclear weapons. He will consider putting his nuclear program to an end only if he gets financial help from the western countries to feed the north koreans. He has the money to develop nukes and buy himself hundreds of black mercedes, but the people is starving. And it's up to us westerners to do something about it, or else...go figure.

Now that the North Koreans are not getting the help they want from their Russian and Chinese friends, it is time to hold the world to ransom with the threat of Nuclear weapons. If Mr Kim Jun Ill wants to terrorise the world with that threat then,we should tell him that our weapons far out number his and we can fire them from our own back yard without getting anywhere near his country.I'm sure it won't get to that situation, but he has got to be warned!

Like it or not, N.K. is an independent nation. Who dictates whether they can have nukes or not? And by what authority?

Oh, yeah, it's Dubya - who's just stated that Syria and Iran are supporting/harbouring terrorists?? :x :x

Hey, I don't have a problem with another nation having nukes...but it does make feel a little uncomfortable when the leader of said nation is an unstable freak who actually threathens to maybe use his nuclear weapons. North Korea has a propaganda program to promote hatred towards the US. The government has come up with some "nice" posters, here's a link to see some of them:

I also read somewhere that June was the "anti-american month" in North Korea. It's starting to look a hell of a lot like "1984". Scary. Next thing you know they'll be showing Bush's face for 2 minutes on TV everyday and everybody will have to yell insults and spit at the screen in order to stay alive.

Mr Clean,

That would be Dubya, you're describing then?

And:
"North Korea has a propaganda program to promote hatred towards the US."

The US has a more subtle method using the CIA to infiltrate regimes they don't like to bring about change that furthers/promotes US interests.

Hmmm, I guess I missed something. While George W. Bush is certainly not a member of MENSA, he is nowhere as lunatic and silly as Kim Jung Il, you have to recognize that. Plus he is surrounded by political and military counsellors that won't let him f*** things up as much as he could. And while he did put some firm pressure on North Korea, I don't remember him telling he would nuke the living s*** out of them. I don't like him either, let's just not blow things out of proportion. The media is good enough with that.
And:

Again, you'll have to agree that the former (use of posters and organization of anti-american activities) is much more hostile than the latter, it banalizes hatred towards a certain group, making it "ok" to hate everyone of a certain nationality, race or creed. Doesn't that remind you of anything?

And as for the CIA infiltration thing, I will not get into that. Lots of things probably happen behind the scenes, but as I doubt anybody here works for the CIA, MI6 or Mossad no one knows first hand, it's only speculation about what is being done, by whom and where. My name is not "Bond, James Bond", so I'll pass...
