Cronkilla

The RAF have an outfit as part of their structure called 'The RAF Regiment'. Their job is to defend the airfields using missile systems and infantry type equipment. The are nicknamed 'Rocks', and one of their organisations is called 'The Queens Colour Squadron' which is responsible for ceremonial duties. They were in the closing ceremony of the last Commonwealth Games, and in my humble opinion outshone the Guards who were at the opening ceremony.

I met a few of their DLs who turned out to be former Royal Marines!

Some of the words in your post confused the hell out of me too!

Jonboy has a habit of ressurecting topics that everyone had forgotten about, bless him! The 'regiment' Cronkilla heard about was obviously the RAF Regiment. Though most RAF Reg lads would swear they are the RAFs Marines/Paras, they aren't quite an elite infantry unit :D Selection is similar to the PRMC though all the benchmarks are slightly lower. It's still a tough unit to join, ask Tony Dean, just don't ever call them the RAF's Commandos! (Now where's that thread about the whole Marine mess deck and pin drop thing...?)
