Fortunate enough to meet a few Mountain Leaders briefly in my time in the Army, great characters, such as Al "S" and he even introduced me to the "Star" of behind the lines. If our SF are as friendly as these lads were, then they get my respect too.
Lands end long jump

I did the lands end long jump on adventure training in the early 80's. That was easy but for some reason I took ages to do the small jump at Grip tight gully. I don't mind heights, it's the hard bit at the bottom that worries me.

I was always told the CHEFS course was the hardest, coz NOBODY had ever passed it.

Of all the things I miss from the Corps "nine o'clockers" is up near the top of the list. Unlike BFT's which are firmly down near the bottom.

EDIT:By the By, maybe it's just my cynicism, but I'm unable to picture any proffesional Soldier shouting "We Rule!", unless of course It was accompanied by the Yankee national Anthem?
