Fortunate enough to meet a few Mountain Leaders briefly in my time in the Army, great characters, such as Al "S" and he even introduced me to the "Star" of behind the lines. If our SF are as friendly as these lads were, then they get my respect too.

Lands end long jump

I did the lands end long jump on adventure training in the early 80's. That was easy but for some reason I took ages to do the small jump at Grip tight gully. I don't mind heights, it's the hard bit at the bottom that worries me.

I was always told the CHEFS course was the hardest, coz NOBODY had ever passed it.

Just found this site looks good.

Favourite quote... stood in the galley queue at HMS Pembroke when it was the RN School of catering

CPO Chef: "Right you lot, nobody is getting any scran until we find out who called the chef a pr*ck"

3 badger: "Who called the pr*ck a chef"...

it was the first time I had ever heard it used in anger and one of the funniest responses ever!!

Of all the things I miss from the Corps "nine o'clockers" is up near the top of the list. Unlike BFT's which are firmly down near the bottom.

[sarcasm]Yes, your argument is very concise and well constructed, so much so I'm inclined to believe you.[/sarcasm]

EDIT:By the By, maybe it's just my cynicism, but I'm unable to picture any proffesional Soldier shouting "We Rule!", unless of course It was accompanied by the Yankee national Anthem?

:-? No long winded argument necessary. SAS is the best. My enthusiasm speaks for itself.

Actually no SBS rule supported by BPT and RM, SAS just write about it.

Maybe my vocabulary differs from your own but what you refer to as 'enthusiasm' I refer to as 'being a dick'

Quite an interesting site on the SAS: http://home.hccnet.nl/22.sas/

Interesting stuff on SAS anti terrorism, it's good to know we have these sick bas*ards looking after our humble little country. 8)

Have to highlight this again. Fine example of humour.
Hat off to the count.
