One factor which we need to bear in mind is that the muslim doctors are being asked to leave their arms bare at all times whilst in theatre, and not just whilst washing hands or dealing with patients. As medical students, it is unlikely that these people will even have to touch the patient, which makes one wonder about the purpose of the new guidelines.

If it were the case that students only had to roll their sleeves up when washing their hands, in order to wash the area around their wrists, I'm sure that many of the women currently upset with the new regulations would be much more cooperative.

lol212, something you have to bear in mind though, is that disease doesnt care WHERE it is. Its like having a fence to keep people out then leaving one area un-fenced. One hole in the defence and the protection is lost.

For myself I am brassed of with this anti this, anti that attitude which seems to be taking over these forums of late. I do of course mean the zero attitude to the Muslim religion at this present time.

Mostly by Eeijuts who have never been to such wonderful places as Barain, Oman, UAE and other such pleasant parts of the globe. They are still human beings and golly gosh they are quite nice people when you get to know them.

The issue at hand isn't actually an anti-muslim one, it's a response to a refusal to adhere to strict hygiene rules which have been introduced to try and protect patients of ALL races and religions from the spread of such diseases as MRSA, which kill people on a daily basis.
If anyone feels they cannot comply with the rules of any profession, for any reason, then they should not be doing that job.
(I'm not an anti-muslim, I have been to the Middle East, and I work with Muslim Arabs 5 days a week, most of whom have come out with more stringent criticism of Islam and Muslims than anyone on this site...)

How do you know what anyone on here has done in the past or is doing currently? Or where they've been and worked? You seem very ready to judge.

I know absolutely nothing about you, so won't question your knowledge or experience. Perhaps you could adopt a similar attitude to people on here that YOU know sweet FA about!
