I was under the impression that when one signed the Official Secrets Act on discharge, that it was in effect for 30/35 years.

I was Heavy Weapons for most of my career. Surely that must make you go weak at the knees Loz. I know that it made me go weak at the knees on more than one occasion.

Aye - Andy.

Heavy weapons, sounds just the thing we need here to enforce the old Presidential Defence Perimeter; occasionally known as Mrs Prez's waistline!

If the Official Secrets Act silences one for 35 years, that means by the year 2017 I can legally expose all. What a dreadful thought, providing it is still alive.

Hawkeye

Your disclosures:

Age 30
Married 1son
HGV Driver

Left Royal Marines age 28 Medical Discharge.
Served 9 years.
First 4 years in 42 Commando RM (1993-1996 ?)
During which time you were both a PTI and a Driver.
Trained in "Escape and Evasion" driving.

Did your SBS selection age 21 (1994?)

Last 5 years M Company SBS (1997-2001?)
During which period you also "tested the SBS RMR team in Liverpool".

You donot tell anyone what you have done!
Yet you have two Blazers, one with a Royal Marine badge the other with an SBS badge.
You also mention about wearing an SC3 badge on your Blazer!

It was only after Loz used the term "Bubblehead", which I take refers to being a member of the SBS,that you seemed to jump on the term to infer some credibility.

You respond to what I may term innocuous questions yet avoiding ones that may take you out of your depth!
Your time frame does not ring true and following your threads I feel your terminology does not sound correct.

The fact that you disclose all that you have seems strange for one who is supposed to have signed the Official Secrets Act, not to mention this disclosure thing!
For one who implys having been a member of secluded and secretive organisation certain things do not ring true.

Why do I get the impression that you may not be what you imply to be,
a former member of the SBS?

No doubt you will respond and clear-up my misunderstanding!

There may be just the job for this earnest yet discreet member. Rover, have you ever considered the position of chief inquisitor with the Presidential Enquiry Team (PET). I applaud your skills and devilish questions, yes I do believe you have a future! 8)

I must admit to going for a job interview in Spain for a position as Third
Thumbscrew Adjuster.
I failed due to a slight misunderstanding during the Social Graces section. I was asked to try the castanets with Manuel, well on and castration seemed to enter the conversation.

I understand Manuel went on to become a singer of some renown

I in turn managed to gain employment repairing windmills!

But that was in previous life!
Then again you do not expect the Spanish Inquisition!
The pay was never that good but the bondage prospects seemed to interest some candidates.

It would now seem I am also infected by the " GOTS" Going off Thread Syndrome.

Oops, Hawkeye's gone all quiet! :P Another one bites the dust.

Unless, of course, we're being too hard on the lad (Lass? :-? )

'uksf ' probably means 'unusually kinky sexual fetishes'. No wonder s/he doesn't want to disclose anything!

It's all very sad really.

Here's a couple of easy ones for Hawkeye, if he wants to reply.
What was the casual name for the LC base at ATURM?
What chemical is used in rebreather sets?
What is the max depth a rebreather set is used at?
All in the name of fair play and honesty! 8)

chaps you are all forgetting one thing here will said how do you pack a bergen? and then said he wants to be an officer 9yrs service 4 with 42 commando 5 with m coy sbs and ive never seen a officer after training carry a bergen and if he did what a crap officer.
I ignored that quote previously as one does! Then I thought, ho-hum perhaps another one, but being kind hearted and gullible on my good days I let it go.
Here you are Hawks, while you research the answers to the other three questions, look these up:
On a radio net who actually is 'Hawkeye'?
Who is Sunray, callsign 60?
All in the cause of clarity you understand. 8)

UK must have the largest S.F. in the world. Seems everyone was in them!

Luckily I opted for UKSBS.................

Special Blanket Store, dhobied swamped pits under fire, stacked blankets higher than anyone before and could chant in my sleep.........

" One matress, one matress cover, two sheets, one pillow, one pillow case, two blankets and one counterpaine!"

Expert at spotting false maps of Africa, especially if the stain was Lucozade, not as salty you see etc!

must go, duty calls, off on a secret mission to impregnate Saddams matress with nits..................DOH!

Wording from Form R. 141

"Men leaving Her Majesty's Service are hereby reminded that the unauthorised communication by them to another person AT ANY TIME of any information they may have acquired which might be useful to any enemy in War renders them liable to prosecution under the Official Secrets Acts."

I know, I should get a life.

Aye - Andy.
