What a difference 30 odd years make.

A promise is a promise. Here is a photograph of Flighty (Aunty Jayne) in her Marxist Student days. She is the one smiling directly at the Camera (not the one with a tache or the one behind going bald. thinks; their both going bald).

And heres one of Artist (Bit O Skin on left of photograph) 32 years ago at Deal. You have to Lurve them "Albion" Berets. And dig those wonderful "Jap" Putties! The guy next to me wrapped at 12 weeks. The tall guy is Mick Otterway. Now a SOCO, but once of the Royal Marines Police. A.N. Other and on the right is a guy who we all called Ginge, he was a walking advert for freckles so he was. All three went straight to 41 after training and I never met them again. Although I am back in Comms with Mick via Tony L's site. We had heard of Razors via Yorky Malone but avoided them as they looked very sharp and dangerous.

Me and Jayne have talked a fair bit about our early years. And both of us reckon that we would have heartily detested each other back then. Jayne was very anti "Government Lackeys" and I was very anti "Left Wing Marxist Students".

Strangely it is more than likely that we met in a Pub called The White Horse back in 1973/74 as we know the same people from back then. I would come up from Plymouth once out of Training to visit my Grand Parents during leave periods as me Grand Pop was on his last legs back then. She says she can vaguely remember this Cornish Speaking Janner Eijut with the worst haircut ever seen in Cheshire. :o My Oppo used to cut my hair and I would cut his. Well 50 pence was five pints of fizzy "Double Diamond" or a TAXI back to Seaton!!

Farkin Skin?.... Sprog more like....... Id done my time by than and had started on my second career..

Have to say your right about the Shaving tho.. Our DL 'Gaby Bye', took 25 16year olds with no more than one stiff whisker between us and made us shave enough bum fluff to make a pillow for a Gerbil... Shaving should have been a daily ritual... but we only had one razor between us. Individually we could get away with only one shave a week, well as long as the guy with the whisker didn't use it!!

Not sure I was ever that young, either. Or that skinny! :o

That pic is of the 'Vanguard of the Revolution' aka the Essex University Rent-a-Picket' circa 1979.

Times ain't changed me too much, either, as I have just emerged from a deadly, several hours long Council meeting for my sins. :o

I would like it to be noted, however, that I was never, ever, a member of the Socialist Workers' Party, despite what the person next to me might be waving.

Even we found them far too extreme (barkingly so) for our broad-left tastes.

Happy days! :D

Sausage sarnie, anyone?

Pics remind me of a hot and sunny Sunday afternoon outside the Red Lion many years ago when my drinking buddies and me were entertained by an unwitting cyclist and his one-eyed-trouser-snake.

This was in the days before all-day opening so the guy was only actually exposing his meat and two veg to the raging sunlight between the hours of twelve and two.

Any longer than that and he would have been pushing his bike home. :P
