Just wondering who's credited for creating or being the main advocate for the RAF. I know Henry the 8th is considered the creater of the RN and Oliver Cromwell of the army but I can't remember about the RAF. Winston Churchill keeps coming to mind but I'm not sure.

Primarily Lord Trenchard an another man, Together they originally formed the basics of the RAF, the college at Cranwell, the apprentiship college at Halton and Netheravon house in Salisbury.
Perhaps the other man is Sir Arthur Tedder?
Lord Trenchard is regarded as being 'The Father of the Royal Air Force' formed on the 1st April 1918, although no one person appears to have taken the credit for its formation.
The Smuts Committee, led by General Jan Smuts (Sith Effrican), recommended that the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Flying Corps be amalgamated. Tedder was tasked to do it.
