RM Recruit, Hi

Post by The Recruit »

Have been using this site for a few days now so thought I best introduce myself.

I am starting my basic training with the RM on 26th April and hopefully all will go well.

Hoping to get into Platoon Weapons (Sniper) specialisation & eventually Mountain Leader.

Welcome, a suggestion or rather a strong recommendation, change your Avator until you are entitled to use the title Royal Marine Commando, this is the polite version as opposed to the less polite remarks you well get from ex and serving 'Royals' using this site.

As I said welcome

RobT.........in the free and democratic world in which we live of course they can.

However, the lad has obviously joined the Forum to seek advice and enlightenment. Those in a position to offer this advice will be more willing to do so if they do not feel hacked off that somebody who hasn't dragged themselves through 32 weeks of training uses the badge/symbol that they have strived to achieve as his Avatar when that person hasn't earned the right to use it.

To put it in a simpler fashion, if you haven’t earned it - don't use it.

Point taken, but I am only using it as to put the point across that I am apart of the Royal Marines, although not yet a Royal Marine Commando.

I'll think you'll find many users of the site using there units logo so I dont see the problem.

But if it offends that much then I will change it.

If you haven't done the course, don't wear the badge!
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.
