ARTHUR:
What happens now?
BEDEVERE:
Well, now, uh, Launcelot, Galahad, and I, uh, wait until nightfall, and then leap out of the rabbit, taking the French, uh, by surprise. Not only by surprise, but totally unarmed!
ARTHUR:
Who leaps out?
BEDEVERE:
U-- u-- uh, Launcelot, Galahad, and I, uh, leap out of the rabbit, uh, and uh...
ARTHUR:
Ooohhh!
BEDEVERE:
Oh. Um, l-- look, i-- i-- if we built this large wooden badger--
[clank]
[twong]
ARTHUR:
Run awaaay!
KNIGHTS:
Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away! Run away!

Nice one ref the Autherian Mythes.
I try to the best of my limited mental ability, plus I have degree in modern History. (it rhymes!)
You are talking to a bunch of Bootnecks who have BEEN THERE DONE THAT. And to be honest some of your replies are very condesending to say the least.
From day one the average Marine is taught that he is the best. I joined in 73. (36 weeks of training) Over a period of years made friends with various members of the Army. One Oppo is called Robert Hope, Royal Signals. We are still Oppos to this day. My oppo in the village were I live is ex Para.
Sgt Vincent Phillips RAOC. was an oppo. he died in Iraq. (Bravo 2 Zero)
Played Rugby with him and worked with him. The point I am trying to make is....Climb down and stop the bullsh*t!
OK you have done 23 years TA in Britain and Canada. Well to be honest that means nought to me or most of the Bootnecks who use this forum. All I am saying is calm down and stop annoying people. Please feel free to input your thoughts and ideas to all off us but just cut out the condesending way you say it. OK?

Anything placed in a two-dimensional plane, such as an online forum, is subject to being misconstrued, I suppose. Condescension is definitely a subjective concept and, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. If, on the other hand, my postings came across as condescending to more than one or two people I'll certainly accept the balance of probabilities and try to be more sensitive in future. I'm used to military people being thicker skinned than that. I'll adjust.

I'm ex Marine. But am still Marine in my head. The better half says I am an Artist and painter of canal boats but, in my head I am still a Bootneck.
And damn me I was a Bloo*y good Marine when I had use of all my bits and bobs. Green lid, (73 that counted for me) Para course (did that in75) So lets be mates hey? And stop this silly pointless crap.
Smile, talk and be a member of the forum and we will get on fine. Because I and a lot of others have had enough of dipsh*ts who talk crap and rubbish. Adapt and make large concessions for A. Age. and B. Knowledge. C. Marines. We are the best and nobody will change our views!
It's what bootnecks are. Big headed buggers who know that we are the best! We have SBS/ML/VM/SIGS/DI/SIGs on this forum so just be careful. OK?

Artist, jesus...look, I know it sounds very sad, but to me at least that's huge; I'm sure a lot of wannabes have similar idols, who we all read about in the so-called non-fictional accounts of war, but to just turn round and mention off-hand that you knew someone of such a well-pubicised patrol as Brave-2-0...christ. Sorry, pointless post, but that sorta thing just sorta hits home.
