I have heard and read that during the 30 week training you do a survival course where you have to look after a Rabbit for a couple of days and then kill and eat it.
Poor little Bunny!!
Is this true???

I'm pretty sure that happens on the USMC survival course not sure about ours, it doesn't sound too far fetched. Don't tell voodoo though he'll soil himself, don't worry voodoo I'm sure it'll be quick :grab:

Yes its true. Rabbits are widely available ( a bugger to catch mind you) and very tasty. If your ever put in the position of going hungry or eating poor fluffy you can be sure the rabbit gets it.
While on the subject anyone know how to catch a fish with coke bottle? I was shown it while on a weekend trip with the cadets but i forgot since. Nettle tea is also nice and new ways to use orange peel
cmon you wanna join da marines and u dont like the idea of killing rabbits? iv been shooting ducks, geese, pidgeons rabbits etc all my life nothing to it!
ex nod was diagnosed with chronic compartment syndrome rejoining eventually.
currently in australia as im traveling the world before i rejoin the marines.
Yes you do have a bunny, normally you are asked to give it a name too I think it's also an excercise in detatching yourself, as you have to look after it and feed it then kill it and eat it

From what I can remember of days fishing at my local sewer run off otherwise known as the Tees River, you cut the top off the bottle so it looks like a funnel, put it in the body of the bottle so the narrowest end is in the bottle so when the fish go through the narrow bit they can't get out. Easy

As I remember it, Carbide in a screw top bottle with a little water.Drop bottle in likely spot on river bank, and wait for the bang, pick up fish. Many years have gone bye since I was last involved in this exercise, so could be it was some other chemical, any wise boys out there???
you have to kill and eat a rat aswel dont you....according to 'the making of a royal marines commando'...arguebly somewhat outdated but still......love to show the buggers whose boss!
cheers, davo
