My condolences Stu; chin up, he'd expect it of you. Regards, Rob
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Stu,
there is, suddenly, a big Dad-shaped hole in your life.
You don`t get over it. You do get used to it.
Life goes on.
I still have my Dad`s number on the speed dial and often key the number just to hear the digits play their little tune.
I miss him dreadfully as you must miss yours. Take comfort in your familly. There is comfort in supporting each other.
Rob is correct but only to a point. At the Service, be restrained. Afterwards with your familly, let it all out.
It`s O.K. for Bootnecks to cry.

I am

yours, Aye

Thanks for the kind words everyone - I still can't believe it has happened

I spent the first four days sobbing my heart out.... You spend all you life looking up to someone you love and it's all snatched away from you in an instant.

Image

We buried Dad yesterday - 7 of Dads RMA friends were there including Standard Bearers and about 150 people came. Me and my Bro carried the coffin - I was totally calm all way through the service and the burial until an Ex-Officer saluted Dad's grave. Tears just came to my eyes.

Like Harry said "there is, suddenly, a big Dad-shaped hole in your life."

never a more true word spoken - Just have to crack on with things now.

Cheers everyone

Aye Stuey

Stu,
three years for me, mate. Your post made it all seem like yesterday.
It`s still there, every day. I still think"call me Dad, tonight"
He was my best mate as well as me Dad, I miss his council, his advice, his humour.
I have a photo of him, the oldest member of our familly with my son, the youngest member. Every day I look at it. It reminds me that in death, there is life. There is hope.Life really does go on.
If this wasn`t so, then what are we?

Tony to you,

Aye, Harry

Stu,
Belated condolences.

Your fathers love shall remain always in your heart
The wisdom he gave is now yours to impart
As days turn to months and months to years
May fond memories and love stay your tears

May God Bless you and your family

Yours Aye
