I thought it was very good. And I was supprised how much more switched on the Seal was than the Para or RM (well that's how it appeared). He guessed that Chris had crossed back over the river and had tried to trick them, but the rest of the team fell for it and won the decision through numbers to go the wrong way. Now for me what the Seal decided was common sense and fairly obvious. If they had gone that way then maybe they would have caught him. He also said whilst climbing up onto high ground that CR had probably booby trapped the area of the caché (which he had) and as soon as they found it the Para set off the trip wire, which to me was a bit dopey. But the Seal did say at the end that he was impressed with Chris's evasion of capture, which I was as well.

The only people who really know what went wrong are those few who got out. I personally prefer McNabs version as he at least points out some of the blame to himself, this is what went wrong, while this went right type of thing. While I havent read Ryans version but my understanding of it is he basically said I'm a hero and the rest of the lads f@#k up big time. As for the killing of 250 lads, its possible although the numbers are pretty unlikely. But that does fall into suit with the KIA ratios from other front line units its about 32 : 1, while you look at the numbers from even the Rangers in Somalia it was alot higher.

I agree, and also the number 250 came about by the US Intelligence, which it says in the book.

On the Bravo Two Zero DVD it says about 100, and in the interview with Mcnab he says about 30/40 ish people were there when they got ambushed (just stating that, cos for some reason, some people think 250 ambushed them and they killed them all).

Just funny how people twist the "facts" to say it is he who twists and lies.

Didnt think it was that bad, curious to see his multiple river crossings to evade them, much to my suprise it worked.

One thing i was shocked was the Navy S.E.A.L (what does S.E.A.L stand for anyhow?) smoking a cigar in the middle of a tropical jungle whilst having the....glad i am getting paid plenty for this s*it!..nice fellow! didnt carry a burger anywhere i also noticed!

Pointless carrying rifles like as they where plastic and about as much use as bacon in a mosque!

Will be watching next week mind.

Was impressed by the way he carried on mind, after showing the other SEALS feet he must of been well hammered! Go Chris Go!

Maybe the final show could be an 8hour evasion from severeal hundred iraqis in the Iraqi desert to prove he was not bulling and is a true hero

Do you think they had new software in the editing suite and decided to test out all its functions in a purely random fashion in this one programme? Long shot, wide angle, narrow angle, close up, overhead, screen shot, rolling screen shot, thermal imaging, interference linking shots. It was like a 1970's pop video.

I agree about the camera shots in the start of the prog , good job it calmed down before it got too annoying

As for the rest I'm not sure, in the villages the kids looked to curious to have rehearsed it, and as for fresh make up ....well surely its SOP to renew cam cream, especialy when you are sweating your nuts off ?

I was having a chat with my old man last night about the programme, and he was very impressed with Chris Ryan. He liked the show and thought that Chris did really well, it got me thinking how many of us could of evaded capture and made it to the end. Even if it was a TV show I think you got to give credit were credit is due.

I've read god knows how many posts saying how annoying these SAS shows are now, not to mention those slagging off Chris Ryan, then as soon as I decide not to watch one of these "crap" shows you all go and say it was pretty good. ARRRRGGHH!!

Aldo I my self have always watched these kind of programmes and for the most part enjoyed them. Each one I watch I learn something that I did not already know before.

I'm afraid I'll differ, I found that actually this was probably the lamest SAS program so far. We seem to have gone from "SAS: Are you tough enough?" To "SAS: I'm tough I am!"

Right at the start I was a bit curious when he mentioned cache's being planted in various countries in case they became hostile; I haven't heard of that before and that's certainly the sort of thing I wouldn't want any enemy of mine knowing (though I admit the chances of Taliban rushing to run a metal detector around their cave complexes are not great). Other than that it didn't seem very informative (probably a positive thing), it didn't have much that one of the other SAS programs haven't already done anyway . I also disregarded it somewhat for mindless entertainment as it seemed to me just about certain to have been rigged, it's just to what degree.

The whole thing seemed to be a relatively boring hour of blokes walking through a jungle, the SEAL bloke with a beard positively oozed of "come on, I want to get me cheque and go home. And why the heck have I got the blimmin' rifle anyway?" All in an American accent of course .

Although the scene where one of the Yanks points out some footprints and concludes Ryan went through there was very informative i must admit
