Nice to see we have all kissed and made up... banter is banter, love it or hate it, it is part of service life. I'm off on a Ginger Beer bender... Ginger Beer the drink, not the cockney rhyming slang before anyone starts!!

I have nothing against the RAF Regiment...I do object to getting abuse.

Would I be right in thinking that the RAF Regt serve in NI. I saw them last year around the 12th july time in North Armagh doing VCP duties. I thought they confined their activities to the Soutn Antrim / Belfast area. Can anyone shed any light on this issue.

Yep, they protect Aldergrove (which is also Belfast International) primarily as it is a military airfield and are assigned the surrounding area as their TAOR (Tactical Area of Responsibility (thanks to setevr for reminding me). This, as far as I'm aware, is their main role although they do pop up in funny places sometimes.

The RAF Regt lads might be able to shed more light.

To clarify 21's post below......The RAF Police are seperate and not the same thing as the RAF Regiment.

When I was stationed in NI, anytime I saw RAF Police it was at Aldergrove they were also attached to RMP on the ground in Belfast and other areas.I don't know if they still do it.
