Time for your bed bath, Rob,

There`s more, when these Euro projects are set up, the member countries who sign up for the project( like that old shed the Euro fighter) get a share of the work based on the amount of dosh they say they will put in and the % of total orders they say they want. Seems fair to me. But Herman has been playing his own games for yonks and it goes like this:-
"How many Euro fighters d`ya want then, Herman?"
"F*&cking loads more than you"
"and how much dosh you going to stump up?"
"stacks"
"right then Herman, your share of the work is 45%"
At a critical moment in the project Herman says he doesn`t need that many after all and due to unforseen circumstances, he won`t be putting in so much dosh after all. Furthermore, if the rest of the consortium don`t like it then we`re pulling out altogether.
Result? Everyone else stumps up the shortfall, costs rise because they are going to be fewer made and the best bit is that Herman still keeps his 45% of the work! Bloody genius!
Herman, don`t you just love them?
Er no, Actually, but El Pres (the cult of Downing st) does

Make more economic sense to buy the licence and build Anglicised version of Elmers kit. If we paid a share of developement costs, we could even claim it was a joint project.

Cynical? Moi?

By the way, on the continent it`s not Euro. It`s Ooro

cheers, ears

Harry, isn't that what they're doing with the Joint Strike Fighter?

Seems to make the most sense to me... Co-develop with the country that's spent trillions on defense and likes to blow things up, rather than the country that thought a bloody great wall would stop the Germans.

I seem to recall a story of how the French weren't too happy with BAE, because BAE had to keep the Eurofighter and the Joint Strike Fighter research teams separated because the Americans didn't want any of their technology getting leaked to the French, who were a bit too buddy-buddy with the arab world. Then again, I seem to recall lots of things... but sometimes they really did happen.

When I was flying Siouxs in Aden with 45 Air Troop they issued us with M15s as they were the only rifle that would fit between the seats; the SLR was way to long. The M15s were a great piece of kit and I should imagine the M16 is even better!
While instructing at Middle Wallop with the Army Air Corps in 1968/69 a team from the American Army gave us a presentation in the cinema. They were trying to sell us Hueys. We could have had 3 Hueys for every Lynx that was still on the drawing board, and they were going to train all pilots and engineers in America as part of the package. We were all up shouting YES YES YES when the Brigadeer AAC told us to sit down and shut up!!! We got the Lynx.
I rest my case.

Then you boys surely missed out. Hueys are one hell of a helicopter that can takeall kindsa damage to the airframe. Times I seen grunts using gaffer tape or field dressings and such to patch up the hydrolic system and she`d still be flyin. Mr Charles liked to get real close on the elzee and shoot off the tail rotor, hell you never forget that plink plink plink sound of his rounds. Pilot `d do a sidewise hover off the elzee an the gunships`d commence to shootin the whole place boy. They be trees goin down every ways and roots and branches and gooks flyin up in the air. Those surely were the days. Some days they`d have a bucket of fried chicken and some cold buds to suck on. Great way to go home from work,

Bin real nice talkin to y`all we`s of to church this mornin,

Y`all have a good day

Mike,
easy tiger, it`s a Nam thing.
Fried chicken, anyone?
He`s right about Hueys taking a lot of shit, though. And I`d heard about repairs with HBM, too.

Harry, 15 klicks up the Nang River, and still no sign of Charlie

Todays papers say that they are going to show thirty Marines how to clean the SA (shouldhave Armalites) then send them back to Afghanistan with some boffins to run even more tests.

Now boys this is a tescos carrier bag we put one over the front and one over the back wrap Harry Maskers round and there u have it dust free and on the range you dont have to pick up your cases they just fall into the carriers......

And for the officers Harrods carrier bags.

The other good thing you just fill your bags with oil.....

Please HK don't take this as a suggestion....... we want your MP9's for our lads or what ever your working on thats reliable.

I see that Mr Kalashnikof has been speaking about his AK over the weekend maybee we should send him one for his comments.....

Hey Sep, how about walking into Harlem playing 'dualling banjos', then shouting 'Yeeeeeeeehhhhaaaaaaaaaa!' at the top of your voice. That really helps ethnic relationships.
You should talk to somebody who gives a f**k.

Anyone interested in how the M16 started out have a read of this, its long but worth looking at.
The problems were eventually sorted out into the weapon we now know.
Why couldn't they do the same for ours?.
