RAF Families Transit Camp 1950's

Hi, does anyone know the name of an RAF, possible all services, transit camp near Manchester in the 1950's? It was for families returning from overseas and provided accommodation until a married quarter was allocated where the member of the forces was stationed.

I know it was between Manchester and Liverpool, but Google isn't helping, which isn't like Google at all!
