Asthma

Post by LloydL001 »

Hi, I am 15 and I would like to join the Marines when I am 18. However On my medical records I am not sure whether it says I have still got asthma or previous (I need to get it checked out). I have not had an attack since I was 2/3 and not used any inhalers since I was 10. Will this hinder my chances of getting into the Marines?

Thanks.

This only tends to bar you from air crew or firefighting. I do believe that you need to be asthma free for 3 years until you can apply...I'll check

I you haven't had an asthma attack in 5 years it's written down as childhood asthma. I know you feel, when I was a kid I had terrible asthma I would go to hospital every 2 weeks on average until I was 13. I joined the Paras when I was 21. If you Swim keep it up, Swimming kills asthma.
