Hi all, just a small question. Dunno if it's a silly one or not but hey!
Looking to obtain some help from the British Legion if possible, and it says so long aqs you served in the Forces for at least 7 days, then you will be eligible to apply.
I was in Phase One training for approx. 18 weeks, the extra time due to a Pelvic Stress Fracture I suffered due to some heavy Endurance training. I was in Phase Two training for approx. 2 1/2 months. There was a delay on Trade Training as it had been decided to 'streamline' the trades and intakes of some sort - condensing two trades into one etc. or something of that nature. People's 'window of opportunity' which they called it to leave was available again to those it had closed on, and extended for those still within it.
I decided to try and stick with it, but due to camp boredom whilst all Admin was taking place, we were constantly put on litter picking duty, guard duty, hourly show parades etc. Some were getting back late from weekend leave and nights out, and as a result, the Naafi and all other recreational activities were suspended for up to 48 hours a time sometimes.
I decided to leave, but with a view to go back. I never did.
Now my question is this. I have to have been 'serving' in the Army for at least 7 days, but is Phase One and Two training and all the nonsense in between considered as 'serving'? Or is this term given to those who have been on operational duties only?
Thanks in advance.
