Training for phase 1

Post by Naylor »

I go to phase 1 training on the 14th of november and im training everyday to get my fittness better i box , run ,press ups ,sit ups and go to caveman training (some of u may know what this is) and ive marked 1.5miles from my front door and its ALL up hill and im doing that in 11min 12secs but like i said thats up hill( at selection i did my run in 11minutes had a bit of stitch, but i did a 10min 14sec at pre selection so wasnt that inpressed with 11mins) so im hoping that will help me knock a 1minute off my time , im also doing hill sprits to get faster.

Is there anything elce i can do to get faster and is there any other training i should be looking into doing ??

Thanks

If your looking to lower your 1.5 mile times, you should sprint 400 meters in 1:30 and you should do it 9x; take only 1 min rest between reps, but you can take a 5 min break at the half way point. Once you achieve that goal push your times lower.

My sister told me to do that. She's a proffesional cross country runner. Shes also the fastest girl in my hometown of 50,000.

As for long distance, i run do a 12 miler once a week. Start slow, bring water.
