Females Joining up.
Women in the Infantry is going to happen at some point. However I agree that the standards need to be the same as it is for a bloke joining up, and that includes the qualifying run time of 12.30 (subject to Soldier Development Course).
If a women can get the times and do the job then she deserves to be badged accordingly!

I think it will be a long way in the future when women can join an infantry regiment.. But maybe one day it can and will happen, not sure if i'd be all positive about it though..
And for the infantry MSI64 your looking at a time under 10 minutes these days, with the new grading system they brought in..

10.30 is the run time for Infantry Mate, However 12.30 will get you in the Infantry, however it will require an extra two week beat up before starting phase one.JonnyStorey wrote:I think it will be a long way in the future when women can join an infantry regiment.. The Grading system dictates when you go for training it has nothing to do with job choice!

No problem fella.......
There is a difference and that’s my experience. Most Regiments don’t run over staffed what with courses and deployments.

there's plenty of other choice for women in the army
That’s not how they will see it or the point of equality.

Please tell me whats Not practical????HRH wrote:Who knows if it'll ever be allowed but I really don't think it would be practical at all to have women in the infantry there's plenty of other choice for women in the army
If a woman wants to join the Infantry then maybe she would be willing to rough it with the guys???
Or are we going to start spouting rubbish about how she might want a leg over everytime she is in close proximity to a bloke??
Women in the Army now deal with most things pretty well already.

New Zealand, Canada,Israel, Norway, denamark, Sweden, Spain all have functioning Female Infantry.
The Tamil Tigers have women in there ranks too and dont seem to do too badly
Iran,Korea both have female Units.
We have females working in the combat Arms already. Female Pilots both fast jet and Apache helicopters.
