i was just browsing some bear gryll clips on youtube, (as you do!) when i came across this:

A bit dissapointing since i quite liked his shows, what do you guys make of it?

Does anyone know what regiment/corps he was in before his allegide 3 years with the SAS? (in the assumtion that thats true!)

and that is really dissapointing. i thought he had more skill then that. bad timing i guess.

Yeah he was TA SAS for a few years and then had an accident or somthing and left.

Ray Mears however is brilliant, may not have being in the Army or anything but I'm sure he could teach any off them a thing or two to be fair. :D

Ray Mears actual applied for the Royal Marines at a young age but got medically rejected

yeah i agree, ray mears is diffinetely more experienced, plus he doesn't feel the need to climb up every frickin cliff available just for the drama! ive heard ray sometimes does survival courses in the military.

I'm not surprised by that. There was one episode I seen in which he was with the RAF pilots and showing them diffrent ways of surviving in hostile area's and about travelling at night and all that gear....so think'n about it he does know loads LOL

its purely entertainment. he knows his stuff just as mr mears does too. im good at survial entertainment too, delight the missus and her mates on how were taught to execute rabbits and chickens on ex..they love stories like that round bbq. :roll:
